Very busy place and very cold. The station acts like a fridge once inside, so wrapp up, especially in the winter months. I don't think I've been to market inside that's so big, lots to look at, from toys, plants, household, handmade items, coffee & food stalls, across the bridge is another part, but it's all books & literature. Well worth going, watch out for parking, it's mostly residential or permit.
Excellent place to visit, especially on a rainy day as it's all undercover. The variety of stalls was amazing and we had the best Cornish Pasties from Gingersnaps. Would recommend for anyone to visit, it's just a shame it's not more local for us as we're from Bolton. We'll definitely make a special visit to come again asap though!
Interesting and large market held inside the novel location of Tynemouth Metro Station. Atmosphere is good here with stalls laid out to give visitors plenty of space. The ornate glass roof of the station with its attractive ironwork adds style to the visit, making it memorable. The variety of items available on the stalls was good too, with many crafts on display. Food and drink is available if you feel hungry.
Parking was a nightmare, the quality of the products on each stall was extremely poor and it's very cramped to say the least. However there are a couple of stalls that still make this a five star market and those are the seller and the crystal seller. Those are worth the day out even if it's probably the worst market I've ever seen. I fail to see the point apart from those two vendors. The is out of this world, it was in itself a definition of quality that beats any B&B or hotel I've ever visited. If he put his stall up in Newcastle, especially on home games, he wouldn't be able to keep up with demand even with an assistant or three because anyone who ever buys one will do so every time they pass and recognise them. The crystal seller has a huge amount of crystals for sale at very good prices. I bought a piece about the size of my hand and it makes an excellent ornament or conversation piece.
Definitely worth a visit. It's a huge station with loads of stalls staffed by lovely people. It has a great atmosphere and live music really adds to the experience. Very colourful with loads to browse. Distinctive craft goods and antiques and curios. And a great bar when you need a rest.
It was really nice and had lots of stalls. However, it gets extremely busy at times and can be hard to get around without bumping into people in certain areas. Lots of different stalls that sell lots of different things, you're likely to find something you'll want to get.
Huge indoor market with lots of unique stalls i could have shopped forever and spent loads!! Stall holders were friendly and chatty. Lots of jewellery to choose from and very talented craft makers. Some over priced stuff you can get on temu but overall really good. Wish had gotten some food as the stalls looked and smelt good. Very nice little visit.
It's tucked away inside Tynemouth railway station and has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Lots of people bring and sell their own handicrafts, and we try to go almost every week! I'm not a huge fan of the street food options, but I love the place for its warm, friendly vibe.
Absolutely loved my visit to Tynemouth Station Saturday Market! This bustling market is a hidden gem, offering a fantastic mix of local produce, handmade crafts, and vintage treasures. The atmosphere was electric, with a delightful blend of friendly vendors and enthusiastic shoppers. I couldn't resist picking up a few unique pieces from the artisan stalls, and the food options were simply mouthwatering. From freshly baked pastries to international street food, there was something to satisfy every taste bud. If you're looking for a truly enjoyable and authentic market experience, Tynemouth Station Saturday Market is a must-visit!
This is the biggest market in the Northeast for sure! you can spend like an hour here with no problems. There are so many stallholders who are very nice and sweet and friendly, and they sell books, CDs clothing, plates, plants, food; jewelry, etc. It’s just such a nice place to visit, especially when it’s weekends or holidays, there would be a load of people here. Also just so convenient to get there that you can take a metro and once you get off you are entering the market. It just has the perfect location.
