What a lovely Restaurant! -Welcoming friendly staff. -The food was beautifully cooked. Would highly recommend the scallops and Burgers. Restaurant let us bring our own birthday cake, and they was fantastic with bringing it out when we wanted it. -Overall beautiful location, beautiful restaurant highly recommend!
If you want a nice treat for breakfast this is a lovely setting.oak beams wooden floor. Full English or continental buffet breakfast. All food very hot. There's a nice walk around the golf course. Automated drinks machine ,fresh orange or fruit juice. Lots of parking. My first visit but definitely going back
Came here for lunch and accidentally managed to catch their "Seafood special" week, we love seafood so that was lucky. Opted for the seafood platter to share between us and weren't disappointed - plenty on it and all tested really good. The dining area itself is open and spacious, and friendly staff too
I ordered fish cakes for £9 and outcome 2 golf ball sized cakes with some stale salad.. I said to the waitress if this is a joke and she said its just how they serve it. To make it worst, it tasted awful. That was the theme for the main course too, flavourless. Had to add salt and tobasco, just so I could taste something. Service was okay, I was sat down atleast 10 minutes before anyone bothered to serve me and the restaurant wasn't that busy. Only reason I am giving the food 2* and not 1, was breakfast was actually decent. Not the best, but was alright.

Excellent food and great service from all the staff. We had posh fishfinger sandwiches. They were first class. Fantastic vistas and loads of atmosphere. A must for anyone travelling on the A64 to Scarborough , or anyone looking for a great lunch.
Nice surroundings, the staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was okay but quite expensive for what it actually was. The cheapest lunch dish was a fish finger sandwich for £11.95 which came with a few chips and a very small bowl of Coleslaw, nothing about it explained the price. Because of that we probably won't visit again.
Always fantastic! 12 years since getting married here- never had a bad meal. Our kids loved it too. Staff lovely and attentive still.
Staying in a Griffon Forest Lodge so booked an afternoon tea, very nicely presented, very fresh tasty sandwiches, good mixture of sweet and savoury scones/cakes so not overly sweet that some other afternoon teas seem to aim for. All very well made and tasty. We had a bottle of Champagne with it rather than tea! Another enjoyable visit to Tykes whilst stopping at Griffon
