It's the first time I've used Twickenham Station since it was redesigned and refurbished. It's pretty smart now and should be so much better, and safer, for the rugby-day crowds! Great to see a selection of shops too.
Came out after a rugby match massive queue and lots of people making contradictory statements about wether trains were running or not and then the platform was very over crowded and train absolutely packed. Yes it was a busy evening but still not good
I take the Windsor and Eton river service at this station mostly every day of the week and I am not very fond of the station. The station itself is quite decent as it has multiple benches and 3 platforms which are connected by a bridge which is NOT wheelchair accessible. There is also a lift from the entrance of the station to the platforms which does mean that the station itself is accessible. There is also a Puccino coffee shop inside the station which is good for the commuters which are travelling to Clapham junction and London Waterloo via the quick train from Twickenham.nnMeanwhile, the barriers and entrance to the station are decent. You can enter via two automatic sliding doors and there is a spacious entrance with ticket machines on the left side upon entrance. There is a ticket booth where you can seek assistance on the right upon entrance and the staff in the booth are lacking in personality even though it's a train station. However overall the staff are decent as I see them everyday.nnOne downside is that on Saturdays due to the stadium being nearby, the station gets way too packed and boarding a train is nearly impossible . Another downside is that even though this isn't Twickenham stations fault there's always train strikes and swr is quite bad. Therefore not a very good station overall.
Horrible staff. My child forgot their 5-10 zip on the way to club activity. They stopped us, saying it is not true that kids are travel for free and my child was late to the club activity. Luckily they released us after paying a full ticket.nnLater, we asked on other stations, they told us we could get a refund, but unluckily the Twickenham station gave us no receipt, and the visa card transaction is not enough.nnVery odd behaviour for two stations ride, commonly the staff is more sensible with kids, but Twickenham's!
Used it for Army V Navy 2022 and there's been a lot done since 2018!!!nClean, clearly signed and helpful staff.nWell done
