Really enjoyed my steak. I always have reservations about puds that are steak houses. But I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent table service. Good food. Not such a good hangover the next day.
Food quality and quantity was inconsistent. Don't order the squid, unless of course you want a salad with a few bits of batter masquerading as squid. The pork loin didn't come with the half baked apple, or the crackling, and the peas served look like they need a rehydration! Maybe we were unlucky. Beer selection was good though.
I love this places and my friend and I are once a week visitors. Food and service is fantastic! Spotless inside and out too. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and meals are served prompt hot and with a smile. Thank you to all the staff who make our visit great! X
Had our Guild lunch here - food was very tasty and well presented. Service was a little slow at times - but then there were 30-odd of us! Been here before and would definitely go again!
Disappointing and wont look at returning any time soon. Everything was simple, bland, just warm enough and very small portions. Left hungry. Cod had no fish inside and was mainly overcooked dry batter. Slow service. Shame
Staff where fine an attentive had no issued with hospitality. Food was plain and wasn't appetising to say the least. I ordered creamy garlic mushrooms to start and a double jack daniel steakhouse burger for my main. I purposely skipped dessert as I didn't enjoy my food in the slightest. The "creamy" garlic mushrooms where just boiled mushrooms topped with cheese. They didn't taste at all like garlic and there was nothing creamy about them. The chargrilled soughdough was just toasted bread. Nothing charred about it. The burger was suppose to be a double steakhouse burger with burnt beef ends in a jack Daniels sauce... the burgers where dry and tasted too much like char. The bun was soggy. And the burnt beef ends was like pulled pork. I almost sent it back until my friend pointed out that the "pulled pork" was in fact burnt beef ends. Couldn't get my head around it. My daughter ordered the children's pizza which I get is going to be a microwave pizza she's fine with that, however one side of it was nuked and the crust could of went through a triple glazed door no problem. My wife enjoyed her food. Suppose every cloud and all that.
Three out of five meals were very disappointing. Fish platters were dry unseasoned and overcooked. Although we were not charged for those meals it spoilt a birthday lunch. However, the staff were helpful and apologetic
The staff were okay if slightly short tempered and the drink options were slim since there wasn't anyone who could make cocktails. The outside area was beautiful but crappily lit at night. The best part of this place was the atmosphere of happy people drinking which isn't guaranteed.
Service shocking. Lady that took our order a biggish lady was abrupt, I asked for no ice in my cokes when I ordered them, and when I told her no ice when she had put it in, the attitude was awful. Very slow at the bar, after our order came my little girl wanted cheese on her burger, my partner went up to ask for some and was told we had to pay for it, so I went up to the bar waited around 10 minutes only for someone to push in and get served before me, so I went back to the table and thought stuff the cheese, my partner asked a waitress for cheese who obliged and brought some without any fuss saying no you don't need to pay. Taking the mick or what. Dinner wasted 44.00 wasted. Service awful, won't be going back.
Food was poor, Ordered XXL Burger, 1 small plastic cheese slice moulded under the bin lid bun, most pathetic looking thing ever.... 1 Rasher of Bacon on Burger not 2 as advertised and that was rock hard like it had been microwaved way past the level of leather, all this topped off with a extremely half hearted portion of Skinny Fries.... Wish I'd of just drove past the place half a mile and gone to McDonalds, would of saved about a fiver and been happy!! I'm sorry to write this negative review because the staff are all very polite and pleasant.
