Upon entering, they were exceptionally busy. It took less than 30 seconds for a staff member to acknowledge us and get us seated, even amongst the chaos of the other customer. Now, when I say they were busy, I strongly believe this to be based on their exceptional service and food quality! My wife ordered the gluten-free battered cod and chips, which she said was beautiful! I ordered the whole tail scampi and chips. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the scampi, It tasted fresher than most other restaurants, and the chips were perfect! The whole time, the service from the staff was exceptional. Given their situation, they handled it very professionally and efficiently. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we would 100% recommend this restaurant for anyone who is coeliac or just looking for a good rustic English sea-side meal. Dietary restrictions: They're very careful with their gluten free food, asking all the right questions and making you feel safe when you dine there! Even offering gluten free vinegar.
Eaten here a few times but first time dining in. Service was fantastic! Very well catered for. Food tasted amazing for gluten free. I definitely recommend the raspberry milkshake. Fantastic selection of gluten free foods, which my companions assured me was the best they'd ever tasted! The rest of us all agreed our meals were excellent too, both tasty and big portions! The girl who served us was extremely friendly and couldn't be more helpful or polite! And to top it all, the price was a lot less than we'd have paid at a more 'high brow' establishment even though the food and service was of that standard! I can't recommend this place highly enough!
Gluten free fish and chips, at the seaside, Yay! Really nice, missed it so much. I had battered sausage and chips, gluten free vinegar and ketchup. Their gluten free curry sauce is lovely. Really friendly staff too, mentioned there's a place that does gluten free doughnuts round the corner!
Shocking! My Wife and I sat in the Diner today for lunch. We both had Haddock, Chips, mushy peas, a round of bread, and a pot of tea The fish was inedible. It had been over fried to the point the batter was rock hard and the white flesh of the fish was no better. I ended up just having a chip butty! My Wife's fish was slightly more edible but she found parts of the flesh was raw! We weren't the only table to have suffered with another customer complaining about their fish. We paid £23.50 and we expected better. With much competition near by and as regular visitors to Skegness we will not use this Diner again or recommend it at all. BTW the serving staff are very welcoming.
Great friendly & clean restaurant. The staff was nice & polite whilst the food was fantastic. It was cooked fresh and one of the best I've tried in the area. It's also nice to see them accommodate gluten free food so excellent too them for doing that. Very reasonable prices whilst also generous portions. We will be definitely be going back here next time we are in the area *****
Twice now we have visited the Atlantic and will be making many more visits. If you have a dog and would like him to join you while you enjoy an excellent plate of fish and chips, plus other dishes served by warm, friendly welcoming staff then look no further. Thank you ladies and see you soon!
The best chippy we have found in Skegness. The big standout are all the staff who are really friendly. Even at the end of a really busy day We were there 15-30 mins before closing on a Sunday. The food was still cooked fresh. The staff who are pushed hard by the manager to do a fantastic job and he is making sure standards are kept even at the end of the day. I just hope he knows what a great bunch of staff he has. There are not many places that offer good food, good value and friendly helpful staff. It's our go too chippy in Skegness
Dropped in here for Lunch after having it mentioned online for doing gluten free fish and chips. I can confirm they do, and it is delicious. A reasonable GF menu is available for adults and kids, see photos. GF meals came on black plates instead of white to help identify the correct meals. Place was clean and tidy. Staff friendly and accommodating. Diner is GF friendly, kid friendly and dog friendly. Minor criticism: only one toilet. That said, toilet is unisex, disabled and a baby change all in one.
Ordered take away and ate it at the table outside. The owner told us that if we wanted to we could sit in restaurant with our dog, which I thought was very lovely. Cod and fish was delicious, not greasy, peas was also tasty. Staff very friendly and prices good. I'm sure we will be back.
