Engraved in the glass of an upstairs window is the phrase 'Established a long time ago' and, stepping inside, you'll find that easy to believe. The Turf Hotel is a pub as traditional as they come. With its low, beamed ceilings, long L-shaped bar and jolly group of regulars, it's a place where everyone knows each other's name and everyone enjoys good banter. As befits its name, The Turf is popular with horseracing fans during the day (Racing UK is one of the channels on its two Sky boxes) and football fans later on, while a younger crowd shows up at weekends.
