Ordered the Cajun chicken burger and plain chicken burger, both with fries. Friday was 2 burgers for £20 very good value, very good food and excellent service and a warm welcome.
Had the beefburger and side of the largest onion rings I've ever had! Plus partner had Cajun chicken burger, again very tasty. Good pub grub, friendly staff and accept dogs in the bar area doggie water bowl available.
Very friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly. Adventurous menu. I had the fish platter which was good value. My wife had the small portion choice of fish and chips which were excellent. They are also members of the 'britstop' scheme which means they offer parking for mobile homes provided one uses their facilities.
Absolutely amazing! The food was a 10/10, the steak was cooked to perfection along with homemade onion rings which topped it off. Jill was so welcoming and lovely, she went above to make sure myself and partner had a wonderful evening. Thank you again team, can’t wait to come back soon!
Have driven past this place many times. Such promise, from a distance, of old black and white charm and possibly good home cooked grub. What a disappointment. The car park is unkempt and overgrown with weeds at the main entrance, an instant indicator of whats inside. The interior decor is in need of an update or just a freshen up at least. A very uninspiring range of beers and same for the menu. We stayed for one drink and didn't even consider staying for a meal. On the plus side: there were many occupied tables in the 1980s drab dining room. It is a place where you can go with your young children with no worry about accidental mess. The sort of place I went with my children when I didnt have much money but needed to get out of the house. Cheap and friendly. I feel sorry for the person who cleans the place. It is probably very clean, it seemed to be, but still looks grubby. The menu is basic and I cant comment on its quality as we didnt stay. I guess, if it was taken over and given 'the treatment' there would be equally but opposingly disappointed customers.
What a find, will definitely visit again. The Fisherman's Platter is amazing, I was lucky enough to have a large portion of the smoked salmon and chive pate to take home. Yummy. If you don't ask, you don't get.
We company of 4 visited it just for lunch. It is quite spacious and cozy place. We ordered grilled chicken breast £12,5; fish and chips £8.50; Steak burger £11.25 and everything was perfect. Fast and friendly service. Big parking and nice garden terrace if it's good weather.
Friday lunch time was a little confusing not sure the staff knew what to do . I think there is new management here but I wish them luck. We went in for a snack but due to staff shortage we had a pint and a bag of crisps hope they improve
Really look forward to our regular stop offs at The Trumpet Inn, great food, excellent service, although can get really popular, best to book early!
We booked dinner last minute whilst staying overnight at a local campsite. Very accommodating as we have our dog with us too. Lovely, warm greeting when we arrived. Great customer service throughout. Food was really nice & both children enjoyed their meals too. Puddings were delicious and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Really pleased we booked at The Trumpet
