A lovely couple run these fishing lakes, which always seem to be popular. There's really good local produce and crafts especially at Christmas, fresh bread, amazing sausage rolls and outstanding coffee in their little cafe. Very much recommended, especially with a walk in the neighbouring woods and a visit to the sculpture trail.
What a wonderful place!! My 17 month old Josh and I parked in Jacklands Fishing Lakes with the intention of walking the Ty Sculpture Trail August 2019. Got there at 9am and the lovely cafe/farm shop was already open and we were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us a map, explained where to go and lent us a pencil to tick off all the sculptures. Afterwards we had a lovely drink and snack at the café. The Sculpture Trail is a beautiful part of the woodland trust, kept very well and has ingenuous sculptures carved into rocks and tree stumps. These keep you entertained all the way round. The inclines are quite steep in places and not for pushchairs or wheelchairs but it's well worth it and my son loved it. Will definitely be going back again and again.
I like fishing here. Coffee, tea and cake available. Toilets on site. Even the kids can have a go. The owners are brilliant and work really hard
I've fly fished here for years, owners are helpful and friendly. Great place to begin fly fishing as locals are very helpful. Also a small course lake,lodge/farm shop and access to a woodland walk called The Ty sculpture trail.Walk created by local sculpture in memory of a young lad who passed to early in life.Free parking if you use the shop which sells tea and coffee and products from local prodicers. Lovely little place for a visit.
Lovely atmosphere with animals around including 2 very cute goats. Went here today but unfortunately didn't catch anything, Though had a few bites. Lovely little shop. I paid 2.50 for a mocha
First time of coarse fishing here. What a wonderful little lake. My lad didnt stop pulling silvers out all day which he loves, I had some lovely common and mirror carp, friends had good sized bream and apparently the one and only chubb! Not a huge pond and it could do with a bit of cutting back of vegetation, especially around the island. Lovely cafe and well run location in some really nice surroundings. We will definitely be back
Very disappointing, The trout pond was full of blanket weed making it impossible to let your flies go down. I was very poorly maintained with thistles around a large part of it that could very easily be trimmed off.No hot food available and no return cards to record your catch.Very poorly ran and not maintained, which is a shame because it wouldn't need much effort to make it reasonable. I did manage catch my two fish and so did my son in law, but it was not a pleasant experience.
Thank you for our special fishing experience!
The best really free range eggs and and the best fresh fish, very nice around, frandly welcoming family. We love it place.
Great place, great fishing very friendly, lovely cafe, great coffee and locally produced goodies. Very warm welcome.
