Such a lovely place. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite. As it's a steakhouse, excellent choice of steaks and grills. Food was delicious and nicely presented. One must thing, please put Cheese and Biscuits on the normal menu, delicious. The Trooper was very clean and well decorated, with a lot of charm. Only down side, if being very picky, as it wasn't busy, it did lack atmosphere. Having said that, would definitely return.
Really nice place to go for a drink and a meal great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Good was top quality and a very reasonable price for the portion size and quality of food. Highly recommend going to find out for yourself
Absolutely love it here, we go quite often and the food is always excellent. Definitely recommend the ham hock!! Staff are very polite, sometimes a long wait to initially take a drinks order. Recommend a visit
Went for a work do. Was absolutely amazing, great food, quick service and well priced for the kind of place it is. Can't wait to go again. Steak was cooked perfect and their marrow bone gravy is beautiful.
This is is such a lovely place overlooking fields so pretty. The staff are very friendly. The food is great. They do a bottomless brunch that I will definitely be returning to have very soon. Great outdoor seating area . Was a sunny day so was so nice. They have a cover & heaters if you wish to have that. Would definitely recommend to go here.
Came here for a bottomless brunch. I really enjoyed it. It was a small but varied menu however there were quite a few drink options to work through. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and polite. Will most certainly return.
Tale of two half's, starter and main absolutely spot on, steaks were cooked right and really tasty. Pudding however was a nightmare, over 45 minutes for a cheesecake and some cheese. When the cheese came out couldn't argue with quantity, must have emptied the fridge but apart from the chutney the other bits were missing. Seemed as though something was going on in the kitchen, food was going back, wrong food going out, completely different to earlier in the night, which was faultless. Wouldn't stop us returning, we can all have a bad night, and the rest of the food was great.
Lovely restaurant with a great ambiance. Let down by a couple of things when we visited. The restraunt was freezing cold. There was a draught coming through and it literally made it colder inside than it was outside. We wore coats inside. The food was good, but the steaks were definitely overpriced for the quality. Mine came out and it was medium rare, as advertised, but seemed dry and quite firm. I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. The sides were all great. The staff were really lovely and accommodating, but made a couple of mistakes with our orders. They gave us a free round of drinks to make up for that, so all round we were pleased with the service.
Had a steakhouse pizza, it was lovely. The rocket was fresh and the onions still had some bite, not totally soft like you'd find on most pizza. The flavours worked really well together. Definitely worth a visit but if you're a fan of steak it'll cost a little bit so check the menu in advance. One of the few places I've seen that sell wagyu beef in the UK.
Was kept waiting on arrival, as table not ready. Long wait for food. My main was delivered just before my starter. Everything was heavily salted. Could not finish chicken as it was too dry to swallow. Not well presented. Only 2 of our party had a decent meal. Will not go again and will not reccomend to anyone. Staff were very friendly and polite though
