An absolute gem of a location hidden away on the lower slopes of the Wolds at Brantingham, surrounded by trees and nature. First time I have visited in almost 50 years and a superb location for a drink and meal that has been well developed by the present Landlord and Lady. Large car park and served by public transport. Play area for the kids and not only a huge field behind for a kick-about but a hidden garden for more intimate gatherings. Accessible conveniences for guests. Truly remarkable with helpful staff.
Absolutely brilliant. Really tasty food, cooked perfectly in really nice surroundings. Plenty of space - loads of tables but still somehow manages to retain the warm welcoming environment of a village pub. It was really busy when we visited but we were still served within good time. Service was perfect. Timely and attentive, always seemed to know when we wanted more drinks. It wasn't cheap, but if you're looking for a cheapo two for one you won't get food of this quality. Highly recommend the Brantingham burger. Don't know what's in that special sauce but it's bloody delicious! In contrast to previous management, kids are welcome, there's a good kids menu and plenty of open space outside with a play area. If I had to pick anything that I wasn't keen on it would be the dogs in the restaurant... Particularly when they started barking. But then I suppose being dog friendly is a good selling point to many people and they're just as irritating as my noisy kids are
Enjoyed every bit, pleasant staff and pleased we sat in the conservatory area away from the main eating which some diner’s had brought their pet dogs!!
Great service, staff found us a choice between 2 tables as walk in guests. They warned us there was likely to be a wait up to 40mins, however service was lightning quick. Food hot & tasty arrived within 10mins of ordering. Though our pork belly was nice & moist it was also fatty and not crisped up as we prefer. Parking: Very large car park for the size of the premises
A lovely pub, great atmosphere and brilliant staff. The food is something else, some of the best I have eaten in a long try. It's not the cheapest, but if you want quality then this is the place to goFood: 5/5
Absolutely first class, including the staff. Our meals were perfect, so tasty, lovely assortment of vedg too. The desserts are on another level. Well recommended, table of four. Parking: So busy but found ample parking.
Can't thank the wonderful staff enough who managed to find us a table on a busy Saturday evening with 40 minutes notice and allowed us to bring our dog in as well as allowing us to stay overnight in our campervan in their carpark. The quality of the food was excellent and sensibly priced too. All it took was a phone call..
