Trewellard Meadery
"Eat in the old fashion way off wooden platers . Medieval themed fun restaurant. Chicken in the rough is the favourite but there is so much more. Scampi , fish fries , hot & cold prawns , smoked mackerel , bbq ribs also vegetarian & vegan meals. We cater for the young ones to. Our mead & fruit wines are not to be missed , blackberry being the favourite. Our desserts are the best chocolate sundae the favourite but there is a dozen more to choose from."

Ate here for my sister's birthday and we all loved the authentic meadery experience. It was pretty busy but we booked a table. The food came out promptly and the staff were all lovely, helpful and attentive. Will definitely be going back in the future and can highly recommend for a great evening out.
Wow! What a lovely place to eat. My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here tonight, and we both loved it. Such a lovely atmosphere, with a really friendly owner and staff. The food was rustic, tasty hot, and served really quickly. We have never tried mead before, so the owner let is try a couple of flavours first, then we ordered a carafe of the cherry mead. It was delicious! So I bought a bottle to take home It's such a shame we aren't local, because I'd love to visit more often! So in short, I highly recommend this place for a lovely meal.
What a fab find! Pre-booked a table 2 weeks ahead of holiday and so pleased we did. This meadery is set in an old Chapel and kept all of the features. All lit by candlelight and kept old Chapel seats. Great atmosphere - would be great to have a medieval night here! Service was fab and owner very attentive. 3 of us had the chicken in the rough which was delicious but very filling...may just go for the quarter next time Had a "proper" prawn cocktail for starter just like we have them at Christmas from the 80's. Simple but gorgeous food cooked well. Tried some mead which was lovely...recommended the blackberry which was like a desert wine. Parking a bit tricky as you're in a tiny cornish village but the owner let us park at her sisters place! Thank you to all. Great evening!
Decent restaurant with an amazing interior. It's seriously the restaurant with the best atmosphere I have ever seen. A nice big hearth and it feels like you're in a 19th century tavern because of the old structure thats still there and all the ornaments on the wall. The food could be better though, the shrimps of the shrimp cocktail were fresh but had too much sauce with it. The chicken was overcooked, slightly dry and bland. Not a single touch of seasoning added. The mead on the other hand was actually really nice with plenty of variety.
Love the theme and the atmosphere but the food was average. Felt like it was all straight out of the freezer. The 'chicken in the rough' sounded lovely but was very dry, which seems difficult saying it was deep fried! The menu was hard to find prior to arrival, hence why I've posted the pictures of it.
Good quality, choise of portion size. Home made coldslaw, you can tell. Lovely quirky place. Staff are lovely, make you feel welcome. Good parking. They even do take away.Food: 5/5
Thanku so much for a great evening...I was part of a very large group of people & we were all catered for amazingly. The food was delicious, just the right portion size too. Service was awesome. Many thanks Food: 5/5
Great food as always. Friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. Would recommend it 100%.Food: 5/5
Whilst in Cornwall we wanted to try a traditional Meadery so we found one near to where we was staying and booked in. It did not disappoint, the food was delicious and the service and atmosphere was fantastic
Wasn't sure what to expect but it was an experience! Medieval theme even down to pulling your chicken to pieces with you fingers! Good portion and reasonably priced. If you suffer with your back would suggest you ask for a table with proper chairs as we found the "pews" very uncomfortable.
