Lovely hotel. I really like it's old fashioned feel. Great service - all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large, comfortable and clean. They do some really good out of season deals too. Fantastic location 15 minutes walk into the centre of St Ives - it's set up really high so has amazing views! Quite a climb back home at the end of an evening out though
I visited Tregenna Castle during a Cornwall gateway. My experience has been incredible. The location of the castle is truly unique - you'll be surrounded by varieties of plants and flowers and the sea views will be breathtaking! I enjoyed my first walk there so much that I decided to return, and this time for drinks! Customer service was quick and easy, and drinks perfect! Thank you. I thoroughly recommend and can't wait to return
The breakfast was superb and the staff were incredibly attentive and diligent. The pool was a fabulous temperature and our treatments were absolutely wonderful. The grounds are out of this world and the view has to be seen to be appreciated. The Christmas decorations make you feel like you're at the North Pole with Santa himself. The park facility is also an added extra for families Improvement-wise, a resort which advertises it's spa connections definitely needs to offer hair conditioner and perhaps a hand cream or nice soap in the bedrooms. The television was far too small for the distance from the bed and the rooms need portable heaters as there's no thermostat. The heating goes on and off at set times. The dinnertime food is reasonable but needs to be better cooked and more attention to detail for the price.
Location, castle and views and grounds amazing , staff polite and helpful when needed. Stayed in castle sea view ground floor allocated to us Room and bathroom very spacious and plenty of space for clothes and accessories . Room could do with a bit more TLC and updating. Not happy with rooms not been cleaned during our stay and had to ask for more towels and tea , coffee, milk . All in we enjoyed our stay and would return sometime. Didn't use indoor pool due not open much during our stay ,ashame .though
Fantastic night with great company food and service, however my experience of the room we had wasn't great. Overly hot with a small double. Friends of ours paid more and had bigger nicer rooms hence me saying our room. Definitely recommend 100% just pay for a better room not the budget/basic/entry one.Rooms: 3/5
We got a deal here and stayed for 2 nights. We only had a double bedroom with no view at all but wished we had upgraded to a ton with a view. The restaurant we used was nice. Food presented well and fairly quick service. Breakfast was plentiful. Food & drinks: We enjoyed the food on the Godfrey restaurant. And the selection was nice. Breakfast buffet was also served in this restaurant which was plentiful.
Tregenna castle resort have just done us the honour of hosting our wedding day. From start to finish the whole team has been fantastic. Katie had looked after us and all the planning and stresses were taken from us. On the day Stefan was brilliant, he goes way above and beyond to look after his guests and all of our guests have been commenting on how great he has been. All the staff through out the hotel are happy and smiling and say hello whenever passing. It couldn't be a better place to be. The grounds and location are stunning. The decor is superb and every one recommended by the hotel for the wedding was also brilliant. The food was stunning, it came out for our 55 guests in record time, hot and really tasty. It couldn't have been better!
A beautiful place to stay. Expensive but relaxing & inviting. The Hotel has had upgrades & refurbs which has seen the price increase significantly. We can no longer afford to stay in peak summer time but can manage out of season. We mainly self cater with family allowing the space of lounge, kitchen & dining but sometimes take advantage of hotel offers & stay in one of the well equipped hotel rooms. Walkability: Tregenna is on top of a hill but you get the amazing views because of that! But yes, the walk into town can be a hike but Tregenna have made a lovely woodland pathway through their gardens to get you half way to town it is well lit for walking back in the evening. Food & drinks: Breakfast is amazing... worth every penny. Also ALWAYS have the Sunday Carvery
A fabulous luxurious hotel to stay at, surrounded by a village of apartments, lodges and other properties even holiday homes for sale. Beautiful landscape looking out to the ocean and the idyllic town of St Ives. There are swimming pools, tennis courts, badminton courts a leisure centre and Spa. A fabulous restaurant and another less formal eatery. The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and provided the perfect service during our stay. Rooms: Unfortunately, due to cost, our room was without a view, which was a little disappointing. The bathroom was a little cramped for a middle aged couple to use, but everything worked. The shower was powerful enough and refreshing. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were adequate. Nearby activities: Too numerous to mention, literally a hive of activity. From sceneric walks through the garden and grounds, to Tennis/Badminton, swimming pools, leisure centre and Spa. The walk involved witnessing a beautifully sculptured waterfall which was truly remarkable. Walkability: Beautiful walks throughout the grounds and with St Ives just a short distance away, everything you could want or need. Food & drinks: We dined in the restaurant on our first evening with a pre-arranged reservation. The food was excellent and the service just perfect. A really enjoyable occasion that we were happy to dress up for. Breakfast was perfect, with literally everything you could possibly want, again with perfect service as required.
Three day break in St Ives, The Tregenna Castle is set in wonderful grounds overlooking St Ives. The walk into St Ives is around 20 to 25 mins and is down a steep hill, the walk back to the hotel is a challenge so I would recommend you take a taxi which will cost around £8. The swimming pool at the hotel was very nice, the water is very warm, for some reason they charge a £1 for a towel at the pool reception non refundable. Rooms were only cleaned when requested on our stay. Bar food in the hotel is tapas and was OK, We never used the restaurant as there are plenty of good eateries in St Ives. We would return to this hotel. Note St Ives Town centre is not car friendly. Rooms: Our double room was OK, not a good view but I did not book a room with a view. Walkability: Nice grounds to walk round but be aware some trails will be difficult for people with mobility issues Food & drinks: Drinks are reasonable priced for a hotel
