Gets the job done and that's it. This hotel is very much a case of you get what I pay for. Prices are excellent, particularly for the area but this is a no frills hotel that's best suited to business stays. The rooms are clean and fairly well equipped but in desperate need of an update, particularly the bathrooms. The fixings are showing signs of age and it just feels aged. The bar/restaurant area is similar, it has what it needs and it's clean but it's aged and doesn't feel particularly comfortable. I had a burger with chips and chocolate fudge cake during my stay, the burger patties tasted very cheap and tough but the rest of it was pretty good. The staff are excellent - friendly, helpful and, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Damien working on the bar was particularly good. The hotel WiFi is good enough but I've been told it's awful on the basement floor levels. It was a little frustrating that it's limited to 2 devices but at £3 for 24 hours it's enough. The hotel is in an excellent location, loads to see and do close by, easy to get to with a huge multi storey car park a few minutes walk away. The hotel will also validate your parking ticket to give 50% off the parking charge. Food & drinks: Plenty of choice, decent value but expect basic hotel bar quality. Enough to fill your stomach but nothing special.
We stayed at this Travelodge for one night as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children in March 2024. The hotel itself is very basic, the room had a double bed and two camp beds for the children. The radiator in the room was blasting hot when we arrived and didn't seem to be able to be turned down, just completely off, so the room was either sweltering or freezing. The room also didn't seem very clean, there was dirt and crumbs on the bits of the bed divan that the mattress didn't cover and we found long hairs on the sheets of the camp beds when we pulled back the covers. The hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of Windsor right next to the train station. It's a great base for sightseeing or shopping. However, we stayed on a Saturday night and were woken up at what I assume was kicking out time of the pubs/clubs. We had about an hour of shouting, singing, car horns, and traffic at about 2-3am so it wasn't the best night's sleep. On checking out we weren't asked how our stay was but were just asked to review on TripAdvisor. We didn't have food at the hotel so I can't comment on this but there are many restaurants, cafes, and bakeries in the immediate area. On the whole, it was very convenient for what we needed but I would not stay here again. It seems as though Travelodge know they have a prime location so do not need to try as hard with other areas of customer service.
We went to Travelodge Windsor Central, stayed from 22 to 24th March, for my Birthday celebrations. All the staff were very helpful and excellent. The overall food was good, but did not really enjoy the breakfast. Another drawback was that the lift to access the hotel only worked certain hours so as a disabled person, I found that very challenging. However my heartfelt thanks to all the staff for making my Birthday very special for me, providing endless glasses of ice for my sore foot, looking after our luggage after checking out time and providing us with useful information on Windsor. Safety: Was not amused by the fact that the lift only worked at certain times, I have a very bad leg and carrying the luggage up the stairs would have been a health and safety risk but we were helped up by a very kind passers-by. GREAT bunch of very helpful staff. Will definitely stay again at the Travelodge Windsor Central, but access for the disabled needs to be reviewed by management. Noteworthy details: The amazing staff, to name but a few as we didn't get everyone names - sorry dear helpful staff - Elizatete, Victoria, the lady who provided endless glasses of ice for my sore foot, the ladies who came out my Birthday treat and a special thanks to everyone.
Our room was basic but functional. The best part about this hotel is the convenient location - it's just a short walk from landmarks and attractions, such as the castle and Alexandra Gardens. It's also right by the high street, so close to shops and cafés/restaurants. Very near the train station too. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The family room was good value for money. The downsides were the entrance being hard to find and the room was beside a busy road Nearby activities: Escape Experience Windsor Castle Alexander Park Windsor Leisure Centre Food & drinks: I recommend the keralan cauliflower curry! Bonus is food can be taken up to the room
Stayed here 2nd time in 2 years. Good location for Windsor Castle and legoland. They do a very good breakfast and free juice during your stay. The 6th floor rooms are worth the £5 extra. Nearby activities: There is Alexandra park nearby which is great on a sunny day.
Good size room and very centrally located. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Location drooped a star as central location also came with street noise late at night. Room dropped a star as, though it was a good size and had most of what you need, it did feel a little 'budget' and lacked real quality. You get what you pay for mind and it wasn't bad, hence 4 stars. Very close to the railway station in Windsor. Parking was expensive even with hotel discount. Suggest factoring in the £12 per day for parking when making your choice. Plus side was it really is quite close for getting your bags into the hotel. We were quickly provided with iron, ironing board and hair dryer on request. Also, plenty of extra milk and coffee available on request. Overall very happy. Thank you.
The family room was of a great size and cleaned to a high standard as you'd expect. However, you could hear some of traffic and trains from outside, so I did wake up a little on the early side. The hotel is in a great central location and we found the staff particularly friendly and welcoming at this branch, so that is a thumbs up! The breakfast was ok, not great, but laid out well. Happy to stay here again if in the area as we got the room for a good price as well.
One of the best travel lodges have been to. The staff were fantastic, very freindly, helpful and good with the kids. Rooms were good, great location right in the middle of windsor centre. A bit noisy outside but expected in middle of a busy location, maybe they could get better spund proofing for the windows. But a great stay for a budget. Breakfast again was good, dud the job, great slection.
I love this place - all the staff are so welcoming - no matter what time of night you arrive! The rooms are clean, location perfect and I feel safe!! Stayed in dozens of Travelodges over the years and this is by far the best. Thank you.Rooms: 5/5
