Stayed with work.nFirst the positives. Great friendly staff. Especially Jorge and Eszter. Very polite.nHotel was clean , tidy and your typical Travel Lodge. Great location. Plenty of eateries, bars, shops train and bus station outside front door.nMy major dislike was my room was on back of hotel. Overlooking service road and endless big bins from business and flats. Although don't bother me the noise did.nWhilst asleep I was awoken by a bin lorry outside my window at 2.15am emptying waste bins. I struggled to get back off to sleep then I was awoken again at 415 am by a second bin lorry. Again very noisy. I had only just back to sleep again when I was awoken again by a 3rd lorry reversing up lane with reverse bleepers going and the driver moving cages on a tail lift. This lorry was the hotel linen truck. This hotel seriously needs quality double or even triple glazing. To top it off air conditioning units outside were wining all night. I have stayed in plenty of hotels. This is hotel has given me the worse sleep ever. Appalling.nAlso bathroom needs updating. No walk in shower. Some of my pics are videos. Click to hear noise.nNo parking. Had to park in shopping centre multi story a short walk away. £8.50 for 24 hours
My partner and I have recently visited and stayed at the Welwyn Garden City, Travelodge. We use this hotel as it offers a great central location, clean and well maintained and exceptional customer service. Perfect for exploring rural areas whilst visiting family, easy for commuting into central London and the south coast.nnThis weekend we had an unexpected trip to A&E at a local hospital had had to call for medical help, leave the venue and return some hours later. All in the middle of the night.nnOur shout out goes to Maria and Gabriella who were both super stars, friendly and compassionate to supporting us and our needs. Keeping our room open and available for us to return to was perfect and allowing us to gain access again at 7am to sleep. After spending all night at the hospital.nnThanks ladies, Wayne and Ryan.
Actually a very nice Travelodge right in the town centre and next to the station. The town centre has a large number of options for dining in the evening and cafes for breakfasts. We think TL breakfasts are too expensive.nnOur room was spotless and looked recently refurbished and the entire place was pretty clean, even the corridors and public areas. Service very friendly indeed.nnWe managed to park at 5.30pm right outside, although there is other parking around the town, a short walk from the hotel which is free from 5pm until 9am note the advertised times are 6pm to 8am but you can also stay for one hour during the day.
If i could I would give no stars. I'm a business customer who has stayed in this hotel often as my office is in Welwyn Garden City, maybe 15/20 night a year.nnI recently turned up relatively late on a Monday night, around 21.30 and despite having a booking paid for in advance they had oversold my room. I was told, ' I could stay in Hatfield', I thought the guy was joking, I don't want to stay in Hatfield. I stay in this crummy hotel as it's in a great location and allows me to get off the train and walk to work. Could I speak to the manager 'No', this is customer service at it's worst. I will not stay there again, they just lost my business, I will not miss it either.nnFor the record, after some negotiation they agreed to pay my taxi to Hatfield and to and from my workplace and the staff in Hatfield were excellent.
Majority of staff are ok, however I came across one member desk. Presumably a higher manager with his laptop and airpods. Unhelpful and full of self importance manner. If a CEO is sat behind a reception desk I expect them to be kind and helpful to guests and visitors. I gave it a 4 star as the other members are generally helpful, but this bald tanned guy with the laptop behind his desk needs a word from his manager.
