Decided to break up our 6 hour drive back to Scotland by having an overnight at this Travel lodge. Got there very latenRooms were very clean and keeping with a good standard for the chain. Breakfast was good and the cafe area was deceptively very nice only seen it from the reception when checking in the night before. Bar was open much later than I would have expected.nHotel parking area was not what I wanted to deal with after 3.5 hours in the car and being ready for my bed. Wasn't expecting it at all. Tight ramp up to car park was manageable but once inside it was not easy to navigate round all the foundation pillars into a space. Miracle I didn't scrape the car off one. It's good they have the parking area but needs to come with a warning lol!nWeird smell initially coming onto the floor from the lift but once through the first door it was fine. Shower didn't seem to have hot water and like most hotels in England now, they really need air con as standard although a desk fan was provided
For a two star hotel, it is more than I was expecting.nComfy bed, clean room, lots of clean towels.nAnd good breakfast.nParking was tight.. If you have a small car it's fine if not park elsewhere.
Previous free guest parking is now £3 a day, which has to be paid at reception with complicated app for parking company. I went back and put coins in the machine to get the ticket. After driving on the M6 and through Preston, then up the ramp to the upper car park, I found it stressful. Otherwise a very decent hotel, where I have stayed since 2022.
Stayed for 2 nights, solo traveller. Have stayed here before several times, and never had a problem.nnThis occasion was no different. The young guy on reception was very polite and helpful and gave me exactly the type of room I requested. The Room itself was fine, everything worked as it should and there were no problems at all.nnI'd certainly stay there again when in Preston.
Most awful experience did not stay the night left within an hour corridor awful smell combination of smoke and weed. TV did not work, toilet door did not close properly. Some undesirable characters around car park did not feel safe would not recommend or book at this location again.
