Location is very practical. Adequate parking available. Staff not as helpful at night, we were given 2 keys per room but only one was activated at all times. I left some earrings here after check out and could recall the exact place I left them but I was told nothing had been found.
A short walk across a roundabout and up the hill to Maldon town, room was ok, we had to switch rooms as the first was not cleaned lipstick on towels and a dirty bed had clearly just been remade without changing the sheets but staff were friendly and helpful to swap this. An odd alarm was going every 15-30 seconds day and night, but apart from that, a pleasant stay and good for staying with a pooch.
Building suffers from poor build quality so every footstep from the room above shakes the room I'm staying in, and every door closing feels like an explosion in the hallway. Seems to be a common problem with every travelodge nationwide. Receptionist wasn't very welcoming either.
Very clean good size room. Ample parking. There isn't a bar or dining area but there are vending machines for desperate times in reception and plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance.nWe stayed during a non-event weekend so it was very quiet.
I do not recommend this hotel at all, they are not accommodating at all to your needs. I cancelled my booking and never got a refund of $300 for a stay I didn’t attend. Be very cautious of booking with Travelodge Maldon.
