The nurse Lorna I seen today was absolutely outstanding. She was informative and clearly knew her stuff. She quickly put me at ease, she was very friendly but at the same time very professional. An absolute asset to Tranent Medical Practice.
You are unique. Your personal appointment bookings open at 8:00. There are no available appointments at 8:15. I'm sorry I have no other choice and have to be with you. You only have one sensible woman at the reception desk. Everyone else has had their breakfast eaten. You should be ashamed of your attitude towards your patients.
2025 edited: positive and proactive changes have been made and there’s a new practice manager. It appears patient experience has improved.nnGPs and nurses are fantastic. Shame I can’t say the same for most of the receptionists and the complacent practice manager. More training is absolutely needed. Respect also works both ways. You guys will be the demise of this practice. Good luck making a genuine concerning complaint as they will write to you giving you a warning to cover themselves. Shocking. One star.
Our experiences as a family dealing with this Practice has all been very positive. Any staff we have had contact with over the last 12 years since joining have been very positive, All the staff from, Reception, Nurses, Doctors & their Secretaries are all very helpful & understanding, especially considering the challenges all surgeries & the N.H.S. are experiencing
Admittedly it's not the easiest process for actually getting an appointment even after registering for online services but I can't fault the care I received recently from the surgery. Peter nurse recently took bandages and stitches out for me and was so careful and caring, he put me completely at ease. I also had to call to request a same day prescription for medication and it was dealt with very efficiently by one of the doctors.
