Just had my wedding here. It was a really special day. Absolutely perfect, so much support from all the staff. Joanne worked so hard to organise everything for us. Sue made every effort to make sure my bride was well fed. Very happy with the excellent service and would absolutely recommend it to anyone else looking for a secluded, dream wedding location. We had our whole day there; ceremony, breakfast, reception, and evening buffet and each element was just perfect. The food was very impressive and varied. For our evening buffet, we enjoyed various Italian foods including both a meat, and a spectacular vegetarian lasagne. We had the whole hotel booked out for the night and all our guests who stayed said they were satisfied with the rooms and the sleep.

Went with a large work group which included a Christmas lunch for a treat and a TREAT IT was! Lovely food, friendliest of service and nice dining room. For what you get on their festive menu seemed really good value for money. Getting up to it from the bottom road in.. Well let's just say not for the faint hearted but we'll worth it when you get there!

Very pleased with two night stay at this hotel which holds alot of history. Can only speak of the honeymoon suite as which was offered as of a late booking. The room very spacious, wardrobe, dressing for the lady,a rather large comfortable bed and en suite with stand alone bath, shower in the corner and his and her sinks. Food in the evening couldn't complain about everything cooked fresh a slightly limited menu (as of time of year) but the chef she was fantastic went that extra mile to give you what you wanted. Tartare sauce was requested by my wife as a side to fish and chips came freshly made not a jar mixture or packet. Breakfast (full english) made by another cook was awesome piping hot from start to finish no complaints here don't worry about going hungry here go lightly on the toast you need the room lol. Well what more can I say this was our first stay in Halifax if we are near again we will stay again without a doubt. Thanks to all the staff for such a lovely stay.
