Premium cost, budget service. Unlike other gyms, it’s not 24 hours. Pool equipment, including the sauna and hydropool, is frequently closed, yet you still pay the full price with no compensation offered. Funny how they still take your money. ‍ The running track is poorly designed—people cross it to access machines, often distracted by their phones, making it unusable and dangerous. On the plus side, the place is clean, the showers are usually nice and hot, and parking is usually okay. The staff are helpful, chatty, and friendly.
Used to be good but going downhill. Negatives: Lots of broken equipment that remains broken for weeks. Shower temperatures very erratic. Sometimes scalding, sometimes freezing. Pool water always looks dirty and general poolside is dirty. Never used it for this reason. Sauna often broken. Running track has trip hazards all around it. Lots of dust on grilles and fixtures and fittings. Not very clean. Dirty windows especially poolside. Leaky roof. Over crowded car park, full of potholes and puddles. Reception staff sulking and not overly helpful. Expensive compared to other local gyms. Positives: Changing rooms and shower/toilets always lovely and clean. Wide selection of dumbbells. Good hairdryers.
Harsh review as I wasn't actually able to utilize the facilities. That being said, I arranged for a day visit to view and try out the gym before commiting to a fixed membership. This was arranged via their website and then contact with a sales rep. Come the day of the visit, I was told I couldn't enter the gym as the sales details don't store on the system anywhere, and the rep whom I was in contact with hadn't turned up for work yet. I was simply advised to wait in the restaurant in hopes that this individual may turn up with no insight as to when this may be, or facilitated with any other options. I waited 10 minutes before leaving and going to a different gym, and as you may have already guessed, I have no intention of returning to this gym sadly. Bad customer service is the key driver for losing my custom
This my experience. That manager terrible man . When took my payment then he never never give respect us . First aim money then talk too much tool and term condition, too many times I went try take to manager, manager never meet me . Every time neglected me from this staff .i wasupset .Other staff have said “ he not here “but manager in ,they telling lie me . First day paid next day my issue know me . Bt they said no refund or no cancellation. This is not my false manager false, be careful ful when you pay . And pool security also shouted with my kids my kids also upset, I went to talk management they never listen. Me and kids neglected that staff they never refund my money. All places any issues refund money but Prenton terrible.I never met that like awful people. Bad customer service
The gym is huge with loads of different areas to choose from to work out in. Lots of free weights and equipment to choose from, including big open areas and a running track. The locker rooms are pristine, along with the rest of the pool area. There are 3 swimming lanes kid free, a huge hydra pool and loads of sauna/steam room type options. Really pleased I decided to get a membership here.
Great gym, plenty of equipment to use, machines / free weights etc, a running track, swimming pools, jacuzzi, steam room and saunas. Helpful friendly staff. Been going for about 3 years now, it is more expensive than a lot of other gyms but I feel its worth it as machines/equipment are abundant and clean unlike some other gyms I've been to.
Great gym, has everything you need to workout and relax, the pool is brilliant along with the sauna and steam Room..
I attend the baby swimming with my youngster. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly and the small pool is nice and warm. I can't comment on the other facilities, as I haven't used them.
I have been a member of this gym for 20 years, but over the past year things have been going downhill. It started with Total Fitness selling off a third of the carpark to Starbucks. It s now getting difficult to park at busy times. The repair or replacement of broken equipment is taking longer and longer even small things like the hairdryers and the poolside clocks are left broken for months on end. Maybe it's time to start looking around at other gyms, especially with the recent increase in membership prices.
Great gym, staff are always friendly. Squash courts have recently been refitted and the standard of the equipment is good.
