Nice trails along the river. Rocky beach near the water. Dog friendly. People fish here though it’s not encouraged. The area has history and was used by the British, French and Americans during WWII and as such, there are unexploded grenades so be aware and if you see one wash up, report it immediately. There’s a fun but often muddy adult playground with things like a huge log swing, a hammock. There is a children’s playground being built.
Beautiful walks in woodland alongside the River Hamble with well laid out path network and the farm museum and coffee shop at the centre. Also another recreation field and booth nearer to the south entrance. Good for runners too - especially the ice cream and cold drinks at the farm museum.
Great place for a family BBQ. Loads of open space for the kids
Love walking the dogs here. Lovely woodland walks. Would like to see horse trails better marked. Had no idea which paths were used by horses which made walks a bit stressful. Also has dog field which is open all week and weekends in the evening. Toilets at kiosk and also outside farm. Adventure playground. Pontoon is great for crabbing. Well worth a visit :-
Great field for doggies to run . Shame about the muddy entrance
Our dogs love it here, fully enclosed so no escapees, our 7 month old springer has a good blow out of energy here with no fear of losing him, he's not quite got recall down yet, but also a good place to teach that, our jack Russell loves meeting other dogs and having freedom to wander.
Plenty of parking. Big open areas to have barbecues and kids can run around. Loads of fishing but have to put back cause the hambel is a bass nursery. All in all very relaxing place.
Clean and tidy, convenient for lovely walks and use of the free dog field. Parking isn't cheap at £4.50 for an hour.
It's a really lovely spot. Great place to have so many outdoor activity but one issue. Not a criticism but a very strong recommendation. MORE TOILET FACILITIES would be of great benefit.
Spent a lovely afternoon having a bbq at Toplands 7. Large bbq, three large picnic tables, and lots of field. We were there from the morning till 8pm so you get a lot of time and it's not far from the car park. Keep in mind it is quite far from the toilets though - about a ten minute walk.
