Served by two ladies, one younger and one older. The young lady was very nice and understanding on what I wanted. I told them I wanted to go lighter as I had black hair. I clearly told them I wanted a medium brown hair tone. 

We did some tests on my hair and i chose the one I wanted.(it was abit darker than I wanted but I understood as my hair was black). 

They began the process by putting foils in my hair... I didn't quite understand the procedure so I was fine and didn't think much of it. They were doing highlights however... so I thought oh okay maybe it would be to blend the colour through, -as I already have dark hair.

So they wash my hair and it starts drying. You know that moment of full regret and that lump in the throat feeling. That is how I felt. I had blonde highlights in my black hair. I looked like such an idiot. As I sat there , the elder lady was saying how lovely my hair was. I told her it's gone blonde... I wanted brown. She REFUSED TO BELIEVE I WANTED a medium BROWN. ... the younger lady stuck by my side and said 'no she wanted brown'. The old lady was refusing and still said that I wanted blonde!!! SHE WASNT EVEN LISTENING  TO HER COLLEAGUE !!

The older lady wasn't having it. I said I want it brown, I'm sorry but I'm not leaving with blonde streaks in my hair.she was sooooo rude to me and was not listening. She was making comments to the younger girl "well if she wants us to re dye her hair she is going to pay" SHE WAS SPEAKING LIKE I WASNT INFRONT OF HER! She was so patronising. I told her that I struggle to come to hair dressers just incase something goes wrong. All of that went out the window. I honestly was so close to crying. 

They put a 7minute dye on my hair after... which only turned it a greens blonde colour. Then the older lady had the cheek to say. "You're paying for the extra hair dye. You've also made us late closing today"... I stayed silent. Paid about £70 and left. 

IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. PATRONISING OLD LADY WHO HAD NO RESPECT OR THE DESIRE TO HELP ME FIX THE MISTAKE SHE DID. 

Also when they mixed the dyes... they were guessing what they put in on my tester... that's where the messed up big time and I was the victim.

Very pleasant place to relax have a hair cut or have your nails done. It is run by two lovely friendly young ladies, who are very welcoming and good at putting their customers at ease

Have been a regular client at Top Notch for many years. They are a great team and always make you welcome. Amazed to read the other review ref Kylie! She has cut my hair for years and I have always been very happy the results. Great hairdressers.....highly recommended!
