Been here many times fantastic place food is always amazing...went for Xmas dinner this year absolutely beautiful and Trevor, Natalie and staff are always first classFood: 5/5
Great setting. Good service Went for afternoon tea. Wow...it was amazing Soooo much food and great range of different sandwichs not just the little ones you get some places with the crusts gone, but wraps, sandwichs, chiabatta, bagels even! Then a great selection of delicious savory bites- quiche, scotch eggs with a twist, mini yorkies, prawns, olives, yum. And then great selection of cakes and scones too! Just amazing value for money and loved the old building very quirky. Highly recommend
Amazing service very friendly nothing to much trouble. Meal from Starters, main and desert everything was delicious. Can't fault the Toll house at all for anything 20 out of 10
Me and my sisters visited with my mom for afternoon tea. Food was out amazing and service was excellent, no complaints and can't wait to visit again.Food: 5/5
Went to Ye Olde Toll House this evening, a party of six. We were all very pleased with our main course. Well cooked and good portion size. When it came to dessert 3 of us ordered profiteroles, when they arrived we all tucked in. After the first bite we all looked at each other and commented that the cream was off . Not only did they taste awful they smelt awful. We asked to speak to the manageress, when she came to the table she told us the cream was in date and that they had been done that morning. We appreciated that the cream was in date but from doing them that morning to us having them something must have happened as all we can say is they had a smell of sick and a awful taste. We did not appreciate her attitude, making us feel like it was us being fussy. All she had to do was apologies and agree that they had gone off in the day. We are not people who have the attitude that the customer is always right but when it is obvious that there is a problem we would have liked to not have felt like we were lying. She did take the desserts off the bill which we appreciated but unfortunately the evening was spoilt by how it left us feeling . Will not be going there again. Parking: Car park was very busy so had to park in side street.
Lovely traditional restaurant, very welcoming and cosy. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food is delicious. They offer blue light discount if you take your blue light card and a form of Id which is a bonus. Definitely worth the visit. Parking: The car park is small and limited but is available right outside the restaurant.
MUST BOOK!!! To avoid disappointment. It's a cosy small restaurant/pub dining. The staff are absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Food was good-great couldn't fault it at all. If you're having the carvery, don't bother with a starter. I couldn't finish my main meal and felt awful leaving all that delicious food. The carverys came out with a very large plate piled with meat roasters, pig in blanket, Yorkshire pud, stuffing, etc and the veg and potatoes came out on separate serving dishes. The burgers came out topped with the biggest onion rings I've ever seen . We spent about £175 for 8 people. 4 starters, 8 main meals and 9 drinks. Would definitely return here, such a lovely cosy little find.
Took friend for afternoon tea for her Birthday and it was way too over priced. We have both got to now go elsewhere for food as we are still hungry. I mentioned to staff and they just said sorry , no discount. Nothing like the 5 star reviews and previous photos
Relaxing, cosy, and oldy-world feel. Staff, cheerful and attentive when needed. The food was absolutely delicious, very well presented and fairly priced. On this occasion, I enjoyed a pre Christmas lunch with a group of friends. Between us, we selected a fairly wide choice of meals. Everyone only had good things to say about their food. I recommend you prebook a table and give this restaurant a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Have been going to the toll house for years. And always had a fabulous night and food as always been very good stand how ever, I think the nights sold for tribute bands included £30 each for a meal. Is becoming a rip off, due to Abba which was sang by only one person and when approached to staff on the night they was very rude and made to feel uncomfortable. When you pay for a TRIBUTE ACTand specially Abba.. which is sang by four people! NOT just one person. It would have just been nice to be informed, there and then, there as been changes before you are shown to your seat.. as then you can make your own mind up if you want to stay or leave!… and get your deposit back as at this time of year money is tight and everyone’s situation is different and as been book way in advance. Ps. This is not the first time I have been disappointed.
