I visited Toll Bar Fish & Chips for the first time today, after driving past several times and saying to myself 'I must try that place some time'. I'd seen the excellent reviews on Google so had high expectations, and I was not disappointed. I was greeted by friendly staff, my fish and chips were cooked to order in a matter of minutes, and I enjoyed them sat to a table outside in the sun. The food was delicious, and a great portion size - great value for money. If I'm nitpicking, there was a little more salt than I'd like put on the chips, but that's easily done. I've already been recommending the place to friends and family, and I hope to visit again soon to sample some of the other items on what is quite a varied menu for a chippy. Fantastic!
Family run quaint little chip shop! Everything is cooked fresh to order, and OH MY, the fish batter is so light and crispy. The fish, so fresh and tasty. Best chippy ever!!!! Every member of staff are so friendly, always make a fuss of the kids :- We travel around 50 minutes for this treat, we'd happily travel longer for this treat!
My husband Tom ,who is a motorcyclist, stumbled across this little fish & chip shop while searching the web. He has been twice now and rates it one of the best in the peak district. Fish cooked to order, friendly staff, and very reasonably priced . He gives it 5 stars and has promised to take me in our car next trip to the high peak. Really looking forward to it.
Perfect location with a lovely stream & a few places to sit nearby. The fish & chips were fantastic and a really good size, fish Cod was cooked to order. Served in recyclable/biodegradable containers with wooden forks too.
Best fish and chips I've had in a long time, will definitely stop again, huge portions cooked fresh, highly recommended lovely little stream with benches beside it too
Absolutely fantastic chippy. We have been a few times. We haven’t managed to find a chippy with the quality food and service this one has. Lovely little place, with a scenic walk nearby. The staff go above & beyond. Always make a fuss of our two children. This is definitely their favourite place to grab some food! See you again soon!

Kept passing and saying we must try this place so today we did. Friendly staff, cooked to order but very quick too. Had haddock and chips and a haggis which we rarely find around here. Everything was delicious, best fish and chips we have had south of Scotland. Haggis was delicious. Can't wait to come back soon. Thank you
Nothing to rave about. Decent chippy but expensive for what you get! Fish haddock was nice batter was crisp. Just the chips in veg oil lost a star. Dripping should be used. Definitely not a 4.8 star rating. I know my fish and chips. I'd stick with a honest 4 star review
A small, but excellent shop in unique surroundings. This is definitely one of the best fish and chip shops we have ever visited. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a great tie-up with Eyam Brewery, which produces Toll Bar ales, also sold at the shop. Stoney Middleton is well worth a visit, particularly to here the storey of Lover's Leap. Parking: There is limited parking on the side street.
