An excellent, typical English cuisine with a rich wine list including marvels from Spain such as rare Ribeira del Duero. Ripley is one this charming treasures of the Surrey country side and the Tobby cottage seems to be part of a novel by William Thackeray.
Great location but restaurant decor looked tired and the environment was like a trip back to the 1980's. Extensive menu which suggested to us that the food was cooked from frozen and not freshly prepared. Meat was tough and vegetables were overcooked. Dessert trolley tray was disappointing, old and really needs a refresh. Not particularly atmospheric. We have had better home cooked food. We definitely would not go back. Far better restaurants in Surrey for quality of food etc, and given this, the prices here were cheeky.
Very traditional Italian restaurant and all the better for it. Food is exceptional prices reasonable. Beware if you are over 6ft. You'll bang your head on the low ceiling if your not careful! Highly recommended and not just for dwarves!Food: 5/5

Sunday lunch with friends. Very good. Starter, roast beef with everything, and dessert from the trolley, Two bottles wine between 6, drinks G&T on arrival. £50 a head. Very good value, great service, I've eaten a lot of roast beef other food available too dinners and this one is recommended by me for quality and value. Parking: Parking behind restaurant.
Saturday lunch. Food superb service excellent. Wine list extensive, tendency toward top end . Look carefully there are some less expensive but good quality wines. Car park small. Overall, will happily return. Parking: Very tight car park Dietary restrictions: Keen to help those with detry restrictions. Very positive attitude
Have visited a few times. Always happy occasions, and with good food and wine, it makes more discussion and memories. Great staff that leave you alone, and when you want, and are right there if you need topping up. I've always liked the food there. The way they make up their steak dishes are awesome. Thoroughly recommended.Food: 5/5
