Went with daughter and grandsons for a meal decided to have the carvery which was extremely nice and also a dessert. I chose the lemon sponge and ice cream overall a very tasty well cooked meal.nVera our waitress was excellent with quick service and very knowledgeable about the menu.nnThe coca cola machine dispenser was not working properly giving flat drinks.
Booked a table for 1430. Arrived early at 1400 but they were unable to seat us as it was heaving. They were turning families away it was so busy. We sat in the beer garden until we were called. £12.39 for a white wine spritzer & a pint of lager was shocking. We had just come from Wetherspoons & paid £6 for the same drinks 2 miles away. Had the beef, turkey & lamb for lunch and it was all nicely cooked. Gone up in price now to £15.00 each which is a shame. Enjoyed it though. Staff were a little stressed & overwhelmed bless them. Would go back though.
I went on Monday with my mum for a catch up.nA lady called Angela looked after us, she was friendly and made us feel welcome.nThe roast was fantastic and we enjoyed every bit of it..nWe didn't enjoy the pudding as much as we thought we would, it could have been because we probably didn't really need one, we were just being greedy. I had apple pie and custard, and mum had rice pudding with jam..nAll in all it's a welcoming, friendly place to fill your belly's, and I highly recommend you give it a try!!
The staff were friendly and they served us quick too. The food was great and the price for it is very good value for money and just what I wanted. I would definitely come back here again for a roast - I don't normally eat turkey but this was yum and I get to have lots of gravy just how I like it.
Wonderful roast dinner, but I felt my sausages were rather naked. Would have been nicer with bacon wrapped around them. It was a little disappointing as I only had the king size because I thought my sausages would come wrapped in bacon.. never mind know better for next time ⏲
