Story

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. We serve four types of meat; gammon, succulent roast beef, soft turkey and juicy pork all cut and served from our carvery bar straight onto your plate. So it's no wonder we're Derbyshire's favourite carvery restaurant.

Went for breakfast with family, on arrival the mushrooms looked like they had been under the heat lamps all night, no tomatoes in the dish, when I told the staff member she snapped that's what I'm coming to do now, like I have a crystal ball! The fried eggs were battered to death and rock hard, when the cook bought out fresh ones despite me waiting with my plateand arm in a sling she did not offer to serve me one but literally chucked them into the bowl full of grease, no wonder they are battered. Overall the staff behind the hot plate have no customer skills and look like they are not happy in their work. Our girl in the restaraunt Maxine was friendly, attentive and did her best to make sure our visit was as good as it could be. Overall a poor experience today and I shall not be returning. I booked a table for myself on 15/05/24.I was served by Lewis. Nothing was too much trouble for him even though it was busy. He was friendly, polite and very efficient and made it a lovely experience. Thank you so much Lewis. Reece was the carver and took the time to tell me to be careful with the plate as they were hot. Food was lovely too

Was served by shianne today and service was fantastic efficient and friendly come here very often and her and other bar staff are very friendly. Refurb has update the place its that nice I keep coming back Thank you to the whole team.Food: 5/5

Really enjoyed our meal here tonight.  The food was fresh and hot and despite being busy the queue wasn't too bad and the service was quick was both the carvery and our server. Very happy customer and planning to return soon.Food: 5/5

Our server Carmie was super friendly and helpful. My fiance has two allergies and they were very helpful and thorough with the allergy menu. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back!Food: 5/5

I had two freshly & nicely cooked veggie sausages. Beans were hard to find in a bowl of sauce, dredging for solid tomato was fun too. Eggs were nicely cooked & meat items looked good. Items didn't seem to be being replenished very quickly, if at all, it was about 10.15. Mushrooms were shriveled & hadn't been cleaned as several had soil on them, including a thumb sized peace which could have been mistaken for black pudding had I had any. Pancakes were nice. I did receive an apology & a full refund on complaining about the unwanted addition of soil.

My experience was excellent, and the  food was amazing. I'm a female  dining on my own today. I asked for a quiet table and what I got was  perfect. Not sure what I enjoyed the most, not having to cook the meal, not having to wash up or just the great quality of food. Mmmm, I'll just go for all Food: 5/5

Amazing staff and food. I have an allergy and the team really looked after, made sure everything was safe for me were friendly throughout. Nothing was too much trouble. Great service. Food portion was HUGE! And tasted amazing. Thank youFood: 5/5

The food was great but the only real positive it was dirty. The table, menus, floors etc all rather dirty and the service was extremely poor. We were shown to our table and before we had even a chance to even look at the drinks menu we where asked straight away. Long waits for plates to be collected or waiting for the bill just very disappointing service.

Came for an early breakfast on a bank holiday Monday. Got there for just after opening time, lots of choice on where to sit much prefer this to the usual hussle and bussle of an afternoon/ evening carvery here. Staff are lovely and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Food was standard nothing amazing but just what we needed in a fry up! We’ll certainly be back! Thank you
