Toad Hole Cottage dates from circa 1740 and is listed grade II. It's a delightful place to imagine Broadland life in days gone by. Parking and toilets nearby and parking for disabled close to the museum. Ice cream is sold & the grass lawns are suitable for picnics and ball games.bring your own deckchairs. Take the walking trail around the marshes and watch birds and dragonflies from a a hide. There's also a boat trip that takes you into depths of the marches off the river Ant. So much to do, it can take all day - reasonably priced too. If you are arriving by boat, lots of mooring spaces on the riverside quay.
Informative but small museum about the life of a marsh man. Free to get in. A one up one down marsh cottage set out to show the way a marsh man and his family used to live. Set right next to some broads moorings. From May the tea room up the hill is open. Toilets are open all year round. A nice but short stop.
Well worth a visit to see how a family used to live. The boat trip on the electric eel was really interesting, the guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything as we went through the marshes. He also pointed out plants and wildlife that we would never have noticed, also answering all our questions with ease, If you have the time ring up and book a ticked, it is money well spent.
A gem of a cottage hidden away close to the waters edge. It's an original little cottage showing how life was like in days gone past on the Broads. A real little treasure and close to the tow path.
Amazing imformative boat ride....esp as we saw a kingfisher...the guide was generous with his knowledge and time....the cottage is untouched by time....beautiful walks too..would recommend.
Nice spot to Moor. Great if with kids to give them somewhere to stretch their legs
Lovely quaint little place. Fabulous surroundings. Well worth a visit.
A small, interested cottage museum. It's free to get into, and you can see several restored rooms, on two levels, showing what life would have been like. There is also a small gift shop with postcards, trinkets, and books both fiction and non-fiction. Well worth a visit!
Very helpful information on local walks.
