Truly majestic and beautiful. I’m so glad I took some time out to visit and appreciate the old ruins, they are well worth it. Paying the fee allows you in all day, but you can go through all areas and read all signs easily within 2 hours. They have benches dotted around if you want to sit and enjoy the view. Parking is 3 pound- you need coins as the machine doesn’t support card , or have an app on mobile. If you go to the visitor centre or pub they can give you change. When you pay for an abbey ticket £6 they refund the parking fee , so it only costs £3 in total. As historical sites go I enjoyed it!
Marvellous castle. Thousands os history, literally. As soon as you reach there you can enjoy the castle, and after that some amazing food in the restaurant just besides it. It is a wonderful trip. I can say that this castle was one of the most incredible experiences I had here in the UK. If you go to Wales, and reach the castle do not forget to also walk across the town. Just follow the river, and you will be fine.
My visit to Tintern Abbey was fantastic... an amazing building... looks very impressive from the roadside but absolutely breathtaking from inside... a fantastic place to get some unique pictures. I have never seen anything quite like this, it's like something from a book or a Lord of the rings movie. Well worth a visit.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Very interesting abbey. Great stop off near the motorway for an afternoon visit. We didn’t spend long there but it was interesting and a nice walk around the ruins and the grounds. There was a gift shop and adequate facilities.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
The most romantic ruins, not to mention the history load for those interested, worth visiting also because that's how they get some money towards the restoration works are ongoing. As I said, most romantic and picturesque place I have visited, and I have seen a few places in UK and Europe. Enjoy.
Impressive old Abbey ruins. Most of the site accessible. Would benefit from some more modern information signage, but still worth a visit. We spent around an hour or so here. 2 cafes and pub next door for refreshments.
Lovely place to have a wander, beautiful architecture in amazing surrounding of nature. Easy to get to, very accessible even for disabled, large car park. Toilets available. And a nice gift shop.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Certain areas were closed off due to the current examination and assessment of the renovation works, but it didn't really impact on the day - a few re-enactments on site for the bank holiday made it more interesting. Gift shop is good, and the free water refill station is always appreciated.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Used this place to propose to my future wife, it was worth it!!! The lady at the ticket counter Anne, if I remember was kind and nice, she greeted us nicely and it was cool to chat with her. Place itself is an empty abbey, but you can clearly feel the stories behind it. Loved it from the first moment I have seen it. Only downside, the parking spaces have no card option, they're only £3, but you can only pay with cash.
This is such a special place. Tucked in the tiny hamlet of Tintern in the valley. Plenty of parking, Good accessible entrance and flat routes signposted to make it easy to navigate. There are markers with the history and maps of the building as it was. Fascinating and beautiful.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
