Never had a bad visit to Tilly’s. Food and drink is always fresh and delicious, from the coffee and cakes up to the Full English. Family friendly atmosphere with a very pleasant customer focussed approach, nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend highly!
Visited today for lunch. Absolutely gorgeous meal. Tuna and cheese toastie with a massive side salad and a ham salad full of variety and a shared bowl of chips. Even though very full the cakes looked so tempting so had the salted caramel to share which was delicious. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff - will be back. Thank you v xxx
Been to this lovely tearoom three times and every time the service is friendly and welcoming. The tea is delicious with lots of choice. My eldest daughter loves visiting here as a tea lover. Cakes are yummy tooFood: 5/5
A real delight and a great place to spend an hour or so in a relaxed environment enjoying excellently produced and perfectly delivered food and drinks. We had 3 full english breakfasts, 3 hto drinks and 3 wonderful desserts and still had change out of £60, which I think is pretty good value given the very high quality of the food and the service with a smile. All the drinks and cakes came with little wrapped chocolate bars, which was an extra special treat. There is even free WiFi as a bonus. We had booked in advance using Facebook messenger to ensure a table, and chose to sit upstairs at the rear where it was quieter and further away from road noise and staring passing tourists. Will definitely visit again. Thanks to all the staff at Tilly's of Castleton.
£15.75 for this...take from that what you will. Certainly gone downhill recently!! Bread was hard as we waited 45 minutes for it, looks thrown together without the side salad that's advertised to come with it? Only given it 2 stars because previous experiences have been better. No apology for how long the food took, to then get home to open the box and be greeted with this! If I'd have still been in the cafe I'd have asked for a refund!
Tilley’s of Castleton is a true gem, offering a delightful escape in the midst of nowhere. I was grateful to find this establishment open at 9 am when no other options were available. Opting for a veg burger, garlic bread, hot chocolate, chocolate milkshake and British tea, I was thoroughly impressed with every dish. The veg burger was flavorful, the garlic breads perfectly toasted, and the hot chocolate indulgently rich. Trying British tea for the first time was a memorable experience, with its exquisite flavor leaving a lasting impression. The ambiance of Tilley’s is simply lovely, with meticulous attention to detail evident even in the restroom facilities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kind, adding to the overall warmth of the experience. A visit to Tilley’s of Castleton is an absolute must for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience accompanied by top-notch service.
Best breakfast so far on a 5 week campervan tour around the UK. Best sausages we have had. 2 full English breakfasts, 1extra sausage, 2 coffees, 1 tea £29.75Food: 5/5
I had a full breakfast but had to pay £1 extra to have a my eggs a different way, b an extra egg and c black pudding. Would be better to have a free choice of how to have your eggs & then a choice of large or small breakfast instead of having add ons. Lovely food though.Food: 5/5
Delicious full English breakfast for my wife and veggie breakfast for me plus a few dog treats for our miniature schnauzer Shelby. Perfect place to enjoy breakfast while it rained outside. Recommended!!Food: 5/5
Today was a miserable one in Castleton.I stumbled through the door of Tillys Tearooms to a warm welcome. My mission was to get my coffee fix and get out of my home on wheels for a while. Having been in the catering industry myself I instantly recognised the high calibre of the staff and I immediately fell into conversation with the very articulate and jovial owner. It is always a pleasure to meet like minded people. The establishment has a really calm and positive feel, not least because of the large windows that offers not only light but a connection to the street outside. In fact its one of those places that gives you a lift and raises your vibration. There is an extensive menu and I would thoroughly recommend Tillys to most visitors to the village. Parking: Castleton has quite a problem with parking because it's more of holiday theme park today than a village with local people. Most of the houses that were once occupied by local people, are now holiday lets. There is a good deal of free parking outside the village and a restricted amount in the heart of the village and also a big car park off the mini roundabout that fills up very quickly so you'd need to arrive early.
