Can't recommend this place enough, a very loving and welcoming place for all ages. Lovely afternoon spent there with the family, loads of things to see and do, friendly and caring staff. Amazing prices and very affordable. Please visit and you will fall in love with this place the way we did .
This is a fantastic and reasonably priced park. There are lots of kid friendly activities- I think it was a mystery to solve when we went and stamps around the park. The gift shop was quite small but not overly expensive. A really nice day out!
WARNING: THE PICTURES ARE OF A GRAPHIC NATURE/ALPACA BIRTH. Awesome trip out, loads to look at and also lucky enough to see the alpaca being born Bit disappointed you don't do the loyalty cards anymore.. Bloody wasps everywhere, but then again it didn't help the first thing we did at 10am, was have an ice cream We love coming and then going in the park area by the lake after. Parking is pretty reasonable, I think a few hours was £3 or something.
Wow what a lovely zoo! So reasonable for £7 too! Very much exceeded my expectations. Lovely day out to see various different animals. Highly recommended! Even in January!
Fantastic loved it there was a lovely atmosphere and peaceful a good place for families and couples lots of animals and birds to see and a lot of information outside each enclosure about the animals .Had a shop there and was not over priced, definitely recommend good value for money and had a brilliant dayVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Recently the nature centre has appeared like a site under reconstruction, there are randomly located metal barriers, empty enclosures and an eery feeling of desertion. The enclosures that do have animals inside are kept well enough but the odd enclosure with just 1 or 2 animals give a depressing feeling especially the lone wallaby that was sitting in the corner staring at the floor. The boardwalk by the lake has been closed for the best part of 6 months with no signs of being reopened as it begins to slowly overgrow. Hopefully summer will bring some rejuvenation to the site.
Lovely place to visit with the kids amd a range of animals to see. Would like to be able to get closer to animals like the ponies and some areas need updating slightly. Lovely few hours here though.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
We visited Tilgate Animal Centre today. This is the first time since pre-lockdown. It cost £30 for two adults and 3 children not bad value for money until you get inside. Pre-pandemic the animal centre was well maintained and had a large variety of animals. I was saddened to see the state of disrepair that the park has fallen into and the now limited number of animals! There were overgrown stinging nettles across all of the path edges which caused the children to sting their legs multiple times. The main walk along the lake has been closed down and replaced with metal fences and signs notifying that the structural integrity of the bridge is in question. On closer inspection, the walkways to the bridge are all overgrown and resemble a walk way that's not been walked over for a long time. Overall, there wasn't a great deal to see other than overgrown pathways and former animals enclosures. The meerkat have a new enclosure which is lovely but their former enclosures have been left to fall into a bad state. I'm hopeful that the management can restore this wonderful animals sanctuary to its former glory. I find it hard to believe that Crawley Council haven't provided the centre with additional funding/support loans/grants during the pandemic!
The park was lovely a nice quite spot to come have a picnic or walk around. There's beautiful gardens and areas of shade with a selection of flowers and places to sit down. There is a map and path to walk for those who like to explore through the forest area. They have mini zoo for £7 is worth it at s the animals look happy with lots of space. I would gladly come again for a day trip or picnic
A much larger nature centre than I anticipated it to be for the price. Loads of interesting animals in a local park. Will definitely be coming back in the summer to see the animals in a different environmentVisited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
