This is really good for adventurous families. There is so much to explore and you can even move most of the guns on their mountings. The final approach Road is unmade and bumpy so take it slow or you could end up damaging your car, it is however well worth it. Good exhibitions and the audio guide gives you a lot of extra information, the staff are also very friendly and helpful. It's also worth checking out their Facebook page as a lot of their events aren't listed on the EH website. My kids have been here three times since the start of the new season, they want to go back! To sum it up a great place to rediscover imaginative play.

Pleasantly surprised at how pretty it is. Great place to take the kids as there is plenty of space to run about, places to explore and not to many things parents would like that would bore them! Sadly the tunnels were closed due to a power cut but will definitely go back and visit them.

I was pleasantly surprised with Tilbury Fort. The area looks like something out of The Walking Dead so I didn’t have much hope- the surrounding paths are covered in rubbish and dog poop so I’d recommend heading straight for the fort. The man who gave us our tickets was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us some history as we the first visitors to arrive, which was lovely. Inside it’s clean and well maintained and you forget what it’s like outside. There is plenty to do as you can actually get hands on with the guns which is great for kids (and grown-ups in denial). Obviously you don’t shoot them but you can change their positions!

Been there a week ago, and I find it to be a nice place to visit. When you enter the location, at the Reception you are welcomed by friendly and helpful staff and they explain to you a little bit aboit the Fort and you can buy a Brochure of the place with really interesting information. The place itself is clean and tidy, and you can find a few cool stuff to see there and the views from the walls are amazing.

An interesting visit. You can see most of the fort in a couple of hours. Would be of interest to anyone interested in Tudor and onwards military history.
