The caravans are very spacious and has all the basic items of home. Tanya is very helpful friendly and supportive we couldn't work out how to get the heating on and she was hear within a few minutes and had it going. The rooms have space and the living dining area is very comfortable and I really can't recommend this destination enough we will definitely be back soon. There's also facilities for washing clothes and a diner on site if you're hungry
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, the camp is nice but feels very impersonal. It feels like a council park field that lets people stay. Not quite as polished as it could be, but working on it.nIf any improvements need to be made I think the basics of more water stations nearer to the vans, more waste bins as the one used is too far away from the place you are staying, and as pets are allowed on site the provision of a poo bin here or there would be nice.nnOther than that it was a very nice, but VERY windy stay.
The location here is great. Really lovely views and nice and quiet. Close to useful shops.nnThe site has what you need, though feels outdated and very minimal. Tiny dishwashing room, hand washing taps that turn off when you stop pressing, showers that stop after about 6 seconds and hand dryers that stop after 4 seconds. So washing is a faff here.nnThe WiFi does not seem to work anywhere, and doesn't reach out pitch. It didn't bother us though.nnThe worst thing we noticed was the unfriendly signage about the place. It feels like they hate campers! The leaflet is more like a naughty list and there's an almost comically rude sign at the toilets saying that you'll be asked to pay for another night if you haven't left by 11:00 on the dot. We have never been somewhere like that before. Not a mega issue, but does make this otherwise decent place seem rather sour and is what we gave 3 stars instead of 4.
Amazing spot for the night. Very nice staff. Facilities are spotless. Have a cute little diner and amazing ice cream. Added bonus - some kid going SUIIII for 5 minutes whilst I was in shower
Great value for 2 nights on NC500 trip and dog friendly. Facilities initially looked dated, but were actually very effective and spotlessly clean. We were in the tent field nearest the facilities. 2nd night only people on there. Lidl opposite perfect for stocking up. Parked the car for 2 days and walked everywhere; town, riverside walk, Scrabster and beach. Thurso itself looks like it has a struggling High Street. Liked the designated BBQ area at the site. Fantastic views and well worth a visit.
