Receptionist was very accommodating and pleasant. Rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet. The free secure parking to the rear of the hotel is excellent! The hotel is on the direct bus route into the city centre, walking distance to Arthur's Seat and various other attractions. WiFi in the hotel is also really good. All in all, we have stayed at the hotel a number of times and also recommended it to work colleagues. Staff here are very helpful. Highly recommended!
I’ve stayed here several times now and every time have been so pleased. The rooms are lovely and clean with refreshments and toiletries. Good WiFi. Ample parking at their rear car park. Lovely staff members. Can not fault this hotel at all! Will always stay here on my trips to Edinburgh.Rooms: 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is about 20 minutes walking from the center of town and is easy accessible from the street. The building is tidy and we'll maintained, both inside and out. The rooms are clean and fubctional. The car park is conveniently located at the back of the hotel and is accessible from both biuldings. The service is warm and welcoming.
Really nice bed and breakfast located in a quiet area just out of the city centre. The room was big and clean and definitely comfy for 2 people. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops on the way to the centre 15/20 minutes walk.
The kitchen hobs are not working. Food is frequently stolen. People take drugs outside the perimeter. The radiator is turned of most of the day. My room is freezing. Last but not least i have never in my entire life been threatened during my stay in Hotel/Hostel during my 31 years in till i came here. I strongly discourage anyone from booking a room in this Hotel.
Lovely, basic accommodation. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. Room was comfortable with a little TV. Location is good but it's on a buys main road so not very idyllic. Bus connections into town are good.
Very reasonable pricing. Perfect location and has real parking. Room was fine, but definitely needs a deep clean. Housekeeping was hit or miss depending on the day. Great if you want a quick walk into downtown.
!Warning! They may throw you out with no reason! Achtung, unser Raum wurde an ein anderes Pärchen vergeben, obwohl wir 8 Monate im voraus gebucht haben und pünktlich da waren. Nicht buchen, sonst landet ihr auf der Straße! I booked a ensuite double 8 months in advance. We arrived on time. Nevertheless, our room has been given to another couple that wanted to extend their stay. The hotel offered us an aparatment instead. It was 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. The didn't tell us, that the apartment was shared with two other couples. No ensuite bathroom, no tv, no tea facilities, broken furniture. Our room was a formar garage. Nothing I booked. For breakfast we should walk every morning to the hotel....how nice. We complained. They offered us only a very small refund of 30 Pound total payment 410 and refused to pay us an equivilant room at another hotel. Sorry, for my swearing but basically they said f*** you into our face. It was during Fringe Festival, so rooms were sparse. Luckily we found a room at the Motel One. Of course it was way more expansive than Thrums. We paid our lesson and had a pleasant stay at the Motel One. Who were very horrified about what happend to us
very very basic, more of a hostel than a hotel. no tea or coffee in rooms. shower is very poor also found a piece of glass in bathroom. toilet sit was broken. wouldn't recommend at all unless your extremely desperate
My experience with thrums hotel was an induction cleaning day which my friend who already cleaned there got me. I gave from first hand experience relay that the "hotel" has a zero regard to hygiene. My friend was given no cleaning gloves, despite working with string skin irritants. She was instructed to use the same towel to clean the shower, toilet, sink, and drinking glasses provided in the rooms. Furthermore she was instructed NOT to change the sheets on the beds between customers if they were passable as unslept it.
