Unfortunately, despite a friendly start, especially from George the barman, our meal and the service was extremely disappointing. The ribs although plentiful were dry, the chateaubriand was very small and our bill was wrong twice, the first time with 5 incorrect items equating to an over charge of £25. Needless to say we wouldn’t recommend eating or staying at Thorpeness Golf Course.

Had.the misfortune to stay here on a golf weekend in March. Waited an hour for my breakfast whilst watching other people get theirs who had arrived after me. Gave up in the end as had to tee off by now. Evening meal was awful, had the wrong meal brought out to me twice so lost my temper and told the staff not to bother, went to the bar for a beer only to be told the one I wanted had run out. Tried calling 4 different takeaway restaurants and none of them would deliver here. Didn't bother going down to breakfast next morning as I couldn't face the inept service. Played golf and went home cheeses off and extremely hungry. Avoid like the plague.

Great place to stay for a weekend. The club house is very nice. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and nice.

Christmas works meal. All in all it was pleasant enough although I wouldn't be in a rush to return. The food was mediocre - starters of prawn salad wasn't seasoned very well; tasted bland. The main meal - the vegetables were put on the table a long time before the plates of food were brought out, so we had cold veg. The meal itself was also cold. The function room was nice as was the coffee, which was thankfully hot!
