It is costly day out for what it is. The kids loved the bird show but it wasn't easy to hear the guy speaking. He was fabulous and entertained well and had great information. We found the trails confusing and they weren't as well signposted as they needed to be. There was a nice cafe, good toilet facilities and the grounds themselves were lovely. We enjoyed the day but wouldn't return.
Wonderful trip to Thorp Perrow today, it was our third visit over the last couple of years. We went for the Halloween Trail which was brilliant and plenty to look out for throughout the park. The autumn colours were beautiful and the map makes it clear where particular areas for autumn colour will be found. The Birds of Prey and mammal centres were fantastic, the staff and displays were amazing and entertaining for adults and children alike. Easy to spend a full day here.
Had a fantastic time at Thorp Perrow today. Beautiful gardens and scenery. We spent the entire day there and still didn't get around to seeing everything. The people who've left poor reviews stating it's 'boring' have clearly spent too long in lockdown and might be a bit confused as to what gardens are .... The falconry displays were brilliant and really informative and our daughter enjoyed the fairy trail. We can't wait to visit again !!
Great day out! Lovely place for a family outing. Stunning grounds to walk around, and see birds of prey. With a play area for the the kids, and plenty of tables to sit down and eat your lunch. It was worth the visit. Time spent here - Approx 3/4 hours.
Wonderful place for a family visit. Very well maintained and the colours of the trees are magical in Oct and November. The bird's display is a must see. Parking is free and toilets are available to use. The tea room serve good foods.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Super day at Thorpe Perrow wondering in the lovely grounds. The bird of prey displays were exceptional. I've been to a lot over the years, and their Head Falconer, Callum, gave the most entertaining and informative talk I have ever seen. Truly excellent. Rodney the talking raven made my day! I hope to come back one day.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Great place with plenty of space to walk around. We did the trail which I thought was a bit pricey but kept the kids engaged. We watched one of the bird shows which was really good but a seeing a wider variety of birds would have been better. There is a great play park there and loads to see. I would say it actually needs to be open longer as we were there within an hour of opening and felt like we needed longer there.
Had a wander around last week in the Autumn sunshine. Really nice gardens the trees . I think we were probably a week late as a lot of the leaves from the Acer's had dropped. The display in the bird of prey centre at 1:30 was very interesting and we'll presented. Finally we stopped in the cafe and had a Ham and Cheese pannini which was also good. I guess it was a little pricey at £14 but so is everything else these days.
Our second visit to Thorpe Perrow, this time with our kids. We love this place, its an inexpensive day out that delivers more than you would expect. Visiting in Autumn is well worth it to see all the colours and the "Halloween Trail" I'm sure we'll be back many times.
Outstanding tree park with bird of prey centre and mammal centre with goats, wallabies, meerkat and poultry. One of those places with something for everyone. Spacious parking, with plenty of disabled parking bays. Roomy tearoom with additional outdoor seating, offering hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams. Playground for kids. Gift shop. Toilets. Plants for sale. Lots of wide paths to roam in woodland. Massive variety of mature trees and new saplings. I spent five and a half hours here, this included a half hour session Meet the Owls and a half hour flying display in the walled garden. The walled garden houses the raptors. Lovely, friendly staff. The crew working with the birds of prey were brilliant, very knowledgeable. I would heartily recommend this super woodland arboretum to all for a grand day out. Open 10 am to 4 pm, closed Christmas Day.
