Thornton's Cafe

Fantastic place for Chocolate lovers. We were welcomed into the shop by a friendly member of staff and also told about some of their offers. I bought a couple of advent calendars that they were able to personalise while I waited. Nice place to grab a quick bite to eat, comparable to Costa's. Outside seating for sunny days. Recommended please see my pictures.

I would give this place a score of six out of five based on service. My son wanted to buy a present for his sisters birthday in a few months and came here to get something for her. A lady came up to offer a taster sample of chocolates and helped him get the best value for his money. She was very kind and helpful and while I have had excellent service elsewhere, she stands out as the best in a very long time. And they have a great selection of chocolates and they often have great deals. This place is worth a visit for those things alone.

Lovely place for a toasted cheese and ham sandwich and a cuppa. Staff were very friendly . Don't sit near the counter.. the coffee machine is very loud, loud enough that you can't have a conversation . Would I visit again... yes I would .

Quite pricey for what was on offer. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and stocks were a bit low. Cakes mass produced and seemed a bit industrial. The place was understaffed so tables were left uncleared and there was a long wait to make purchases at the separate sweet counter.

The air con in the ceiling was filthy. Totally clogged up. Several of the ceiling lights were full of fluff and dirt too. No staff wore gloves and picked up crockery after clearing tables etc. It felt a little slap dash. The coffee was very very strong and the tea cakes only really toasted 1 side. Need to improve a little I think.

OMG! Sooo many wonderful things to choose. Unfortunately I only had time for a mocha today but it was probably the best ever....and a free gooey caramel chocolate instead of a boring biscuit. Hardly any wonder that people were queuing at one point and even willing to sit outside on a very cold miserable day. Thoroughly recommend.

Very busy there which could well be due to the fact that the nearby Costa is closed for refurbishment and Starbucks has shut down. Staff seemed disorganised, not coping with the queues at the counter. Tables not being cleared at all quickly after customers departed so had to sit at a table full of dirty cups, plates etc. Food adequate but no more than that. Unlikely to go there again

A combination Thorntons shop & cafe. Good range of beverages, cakes etc with the nice touch of a free chocolate or chocolates! with your drink. Shop prices are lower than the high street and some of the bargains can be outstanding.

I brought some white chocolate buttons they are delish,you cannot get white chocolate very easily but good old Thorntons had some

Ok, but not much choice later in the day, asked for a glass for my cold drink and got an awful heavy chunky mug.......trendy but rather clumsy to hold. !!! They were cleaning up around us and we felt pushed out.
