The team worked tirelessly and always their clients best interests first. They were reliable, experienced and professional, and their advice and non-hurried approach resulted in a very satisfactory conclusion. They were able to put in place the right support and advice at the right time and were very patient, taking trouble to explain all the nuances of the legal system and their approach. They were particularly supportive during difficult times and provided great comfort and support by contacting and supporting us and providing advice. Thompsons backed by Unison were there in our darkest hour, a company and people we could trust and rely on. They have been a big part of the "team effort" in providing the best opportunity for their clients improvement.
I found Thompsons to be slow and very unorganised when dealing with my claim. I only used them as I had to due to Union and an at work injury. What should have taken a few months ended up being ignored for a year and then passed from pillar to post to in the end taking about 2½ years. Service received was shocking to be quite truthful and it was all dealt with in the final 6 months even though the people I had my claim against admitted full liability on the day after my accident. 2 years into claim I was told I has been misinformed and if I wanted to disagree with anypart of my claim I would have to start ghe whole process again. So I just agreed to let it all go and settle for there version. Would I ever recommend Thompsons, I can honestly say NO I wouldn't as they just don't seem to be bothered anymore.
I have dealt with Thompsons solicitors with regards to my redundancy various times over the years via the Union. In the past, their service has always been very good, if a bit slow. This time, however, they have not contacted me in time and aren't answering their phone, meaning I had to find a different solicitor at extremely short notice. I think other reviewers are right, Union members are not getting a good service any more.
Dreadful Experience - bordering on negligence. Referred to Thompsons Bristol Office via my union POA after my employer tried to dismiss me for exercising my union rights. The advice I was given was that my case had no merit. I was amazed. I then obtained via a subject access request e-mail evidence from my employers own solicitors that the charges were dropped against me due to my employer wait for it breaching my TULCRA union rights.....I then contacted Thompsons again who advised me that my claim was 'out of time' for any Tribunal.....Yet the very same evidence was sent to Thompsons depicting the employment law breach in early January 2021 as was was used by my employers own solicitors...I may have lost a great deal from this appalling service received by Thompsons. I submitted a complaint to a manager at the Bristol office who replied late and out of line with Thompsons own internal complaint process. When I eventually received the response it was written in a very high handed manner that I found demeaning. I have now lodged a complaint with the Legal Ombudsman. There is a trend I have noted on both Google reviews and Trustpilot that Union member referrals receive what I perceive to be a second class service from Thompsons. Supporting employees? I think not. Thankfully, I obtained a second legal opinion from a legal firm specialising in both complex employment law and PI claims who have taken on my case based on evidential merit. Keep away from Thompsons at all cost.
We completed on a sale in Coventry for a client and after 4 weeks we still havent received our fee from Thompsons for the work involved with the sale of the property. I have chased them over 15 times and keep getting fobbed off. It worries me that if there is a delay with sending out completion cheques that there may be a problem with their clients account. If you work in estate agency, do not encourage your buyers or sellers to use this outfit
I did not find the help or advice from BBH reassuring or any use, BBH have apparently taken over the Wills section. From what was Thompsons Solicitors Wills & Conveyancing dept who were always more than helpful, and went out of their way to be a quality service. Sorry Messrs Thompson but what on earth has gone on.
Free with Unite Union membership, I'd rather have paid for a professional firm.3 months to get emails,4 different people dealt with over 2 1/2 years,sending statements 2 or 3 times,and to beat it all told 6 weeks before 3 year claim time is up,that they are not proceeding.incompetent does not even go there.Unite Union need to seriously look at this firm.
Very Unprofessional,bad communication with client and misleading advice. 2 year s on a simple bulletproof work accident case and after 2 years changed 360° . Looks like someone got paid but it was not me.
