Thomas Firbank removals are excellent. They were extremely professional in providing a quote and making all of the arrangements for the move. All of their staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and we were particularly impressed by the crew who completed our move for us. It was a long day in appalling conditions - the temperature never rose above freezing - but Jason, Luke and Lewis were helpful and cheery. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and I would not hesitate to recommend this firm. In fact, since we have moved into a short term rental, we will be using them again in about a year's time.
We were very impressed with Thomas Firbank. We paid for a full packing and removal service over 2 days in October. The team had most of our house packed on Day One & finished this off on Day 2 with our move into our new home despite appalling weather. The whole team were friendly and approachable and made a stressful couple of days more bearable. We had a huge number of pictures and photographs to pack and we made it to the new home with only 2 breakages, which Thomas Firbank are paying to repair. Overall, a great service and we'd highly recommend them.

Choosing Thomas Firbank as our removal company has proved to be a great decision. The team led by Mark were a pleasure to have around. They were professional, hard working and efficient both packing us up and moving us up. We thoroughly recommend Thomas Firbank Removals.
Thomas Firbank removed my furniture and took it to storage for a month and then delivered to my new house. Unfortunately I have had several issues with their service. When I had the quote done I wasn't told the items would be in Dorset - I had asked if I could access them as I didn't know how long it would need to be stored and I was told I could get things, with an access fee. No mention of the distance! I had thought that the quote was a fixed price, but when it came to it, they had miscalculated and needed more containers - so there were significant additional costs. It should be explained that the amount that you pay up front is only an estimate. The whole removals process should be explained more fully: I wasn't told what time the men would be arriving - or that they would stop at 2pm to take items to Dorset and not be back until the next day. When items were unloaded there were several pieces of furniture with damage. They were obviously badly handled and stored eg: a sofa which had a large dent in it where a table leg had been against it for a long time leading to a large dent and fabric damage. Antique tables were scratched, a bed frame, 2 wardrobes and underbed storage drawers were scraped; and my range cooker was badly dented and needs about 8 different spare parts including a whole new drawer and panels. Despite being extremely heavy, only 2 men lifted it from the lorry and the engineer I had to quote for the repair said it looked like it had had huge force against it. At the end of the day when the goods were unloaded I was presented with yellow receipt lists to sign to say that I had received the items in good condition. Because of the number of boxes and items, there was no way I could check all of these and certainly not have unpacked them before they left. There were 9 A4 sheets with full lists each day I was made to feel that I was delaying their departure because I wanted to check that all the items were in the house. I am annoyed that I was put under this pressure - obviously knowing that some items were damaged meant I was reluctant to sign that other items were received in good condition without checking them. When I reported the damage to the office, I was asked to complete an insurance form which I did about 2 weeks after moving in. It is now nearly 8 weeks later ie 10 weeks since the move & I still haven't had the situation resolved despite chasing them multiple times. I haven't even been told I can order the parts for the cooker, despite telling TF that they are out of stock and have no ETA, so it could be months until I get them. So after spending nearly £8,000 with Firbanks and chasing weekly to get resolution, I am still left with damaged items and no way of getting this resolved. I rang to get the phone number of the insurance company as I was finally told that it was all in their hands after 6 weeks of chasing and was then informed that they weren't sure they could give me the number. If I had a car insurance claim, it would be resolved within days; I would argue a cooker is just as essential. I also paid a premium of £254 for the insurance for cover up to £60K. My claim form was for £1200 - not a fortune, but it needs sorting out! I get the impression that they want me to just go away and not have to deal with the problem. This is a completely frustrating and ridiculous situation which could have been avoided with better crew training and more proactive customer service in the office. I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this is such a shambles that I hope the management use this case as a learning exercise.
