In Thomas Clarkson there is no summer uniform where you can where light clothes, causing students to not be able to force on learning due to the hot weather. The children come home tired and exhausted not being able to get work done because they are so exhausted. Overall it is a good school for learning yet in the summer it causes the work ability and the information students take in to decrease. If a summer uniform can be arranged I think this school could improve greatly!
I went to this school many years ago and by the sounds of it, it has not reformed despite changing the name... the teachers resigning swiftly and suffering from mental breakdowns was not uncommon and innapropriate behaviour would often occur between students and teachers verbal and sometimes physical. The schools policy on bullying is not taken seriously and fights between students were a daily occurrence. If you care for your child's education and general wellbeing i implore you to seek other schools that hold a higher professional standard.
This school really needs a shake up, massive turnover of staff, teachers never seeing the year out. No continuity of education, to be fair a very small number of teachers really do their best, but without any back up from senior levels. Zero tolerance does not work example being daughter advised cannot wear Dr marten shoes .......... because of yellow stitching . Head teacher flounces about in her own little bubble without any clue as to what is happening. Too many students have had their futures messed up by this school.
Too many substitute teachers which makes the continuity learning very difficult for the students. The zero tolerance rules really need to be straightened out, as all I see is students that don't cause disruption getting punished too hard for minor issues. There are many students that are falling into a state of depression for this and no support is given as you try to contact the school the person you need to speak to is never available, and they don't call back like promised or worse, think a child's welfare is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Shame.
A place where a bully gets punished by a day in isolation. No support for the affected child. Teachers are less than useless not even complaints are taken seriously. Do not send your child here no matter what.
good school just bullying dont get sorted really quickly then children dont want go to school. i have been to this school since years 7 and i had to leave the school half way though year 10 i would still love to be there the school just need to shake up and for the children that just mess about shouldn't be in the school
I think this school is lovely , the teachers are great and help you with your work mostly unless you've disbehaved which would create an argument , but as a student of this school i respect all of your opinons and i hope you enjoy your day :
honestly such a horrible school none of the teachers do anything about bullying and they honestly dont care even when they see it with their own eyes
This school is horrendous, the staff care more about how the uniform looks like on student rather than the students well-being .
I absolutely hate this school I was bullied so much to the point of running away from school one day I never came back
