Years ago, this shop was ok, well stocked etc. The manageress was friendly as were some of the staff. But then a surly bespectacled older woman started working there and that's when it went into decline. The whole experience of going there was always tinged with misery. The said woman even hit me on the chest once because I said how much change she owed me while she was faffing with the till and couldn't do the math. Lately, the younger staff there are just as depressing. Not even any eye contact or a simple "thanks". Is it just me or has Gen Z become a bunch of rude, entitled zombies? The shop itself looks tired, cramped but some shelves are empty. Overall one of those places you would only go to if you lived within a short walk? I can't think of any other reason to go!
"Service with a smile"...clearly this isn't something they tell their staff! I have just used their collect + service and found the lady with glasses serving to be so surly and unhelpful. I didn't even bother getting the bread, milk and baby formula I needed. I do recall the last time I visited the store again for their collect + the young lady who served then was also quite unfriendly. Definitely returning my parcels elsewhere.
I am discusted that my daughter was refused service based on age. She was not wanting to purchase a government controled item, just a can of fizzy drink. When my daughter questioned the reason she was refused the assistant stated she had to be 14 to be served. This is clearly an examply of age discrimination as there is no such law. Oviously my daughter was upset and asked for a further explination as all the other shops in the local area have no such policy, or the other staff members in this shop. The woman could not offer an explination. My daughter staited she would not shop here again and went to leave. Unwilling to except that victums of discrimination oftern try to stand up for there rights and will not want to surport the offenders in anyway the assistant staited 'jesus that child'. This was clearly ment to be patrinising and to insult my daughter as this is a compleatly inapproprate way to speek to anyone of any age. We will not be using this shop again as long as this level of rudeness and discrimination is practiced by the staff.
I used to go here a fair bit but the lady who runs the place hasn’t cracked a smile in years. I avoid these days as much as poss, even driving past landican is more cheerful.
Just been to this shop. Full of cretins not wearing face coverings or keeping social distance. Owner couldn’t seem to care less. Disgusting.
Horrible staff not friendly at all speak down to you and charge you more for stuff than the prices say... Only came here twice as working near would avoid
