We were unsure if we wanted to do this activity in our weekend away, but glad we did.nnWe’ve done Dungeon experiences in other cities and perhaps parts were hit or miss.nnThis experience was fantastic! All of the staff were quite engaging and entertaining. Lots of laughs from everyone in our group.nnYou just book tickets in advance as it’s quite busy on the day. I would recommend NOT bringing children under 12. There was a couple littles on our tour and one had tears midway and then was scared til the end.nnA great time! Don’t forget to check your pics before you leave.
One of the best dungeons actors are fantastic and really engaging, fun, laughs and a great part of our day out in York, seems if you are a merlin passholder, you now get discounts on your photos inside. No photography allowed inside hence no indoor photos on this review.
When I booked this visit I naturally assumed The York Dungeon Tour would be beneath York Castle, it was not, but erected within a building on Clifton Street. I paid in advance on line and regret doing so because on arrival I would have noticed my mistake. Having said that it was entertaining but not what I expected.
The York Dungeon is definitely a must do when in York. It provides a scary and immersive experience into York’s brutal past. The actors in the dungeon are excellent, performing their roles brilliantly. Not only is it scary and jumpy, it’s a great way to learn all about York’s past. However, I didn’t find it as scary as the one in Edinburgh.
We had such a great time! It was funny, educational, spooky, gross, scary... All the things I expect from a Dungeon! The actors and all the staff were brilliant, it was definitely better than London!nnThe only picture I've added is on the way down to the bathrooms to show it's a full experience. No photos inside aside from official ones so not to spoil it for others!
