Amazing food and wonderful service. I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough! Everything that we ate or drank was fantastic, yet something we had never tasted before. A truly memorable meal in a lovely setting.Food: 5/5
The Woodspeen is an amazing place to visit. Warm welcome, great environment and very knowledgeable staff. We've visited for no occasion, special birthdays, cookery school classes, chef's table and even had our wedding breakfast there. Always a great time, always amazing food and drink. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Nice restaurant in Oxfordshire. Great food, cool ambiance and friendly staff. If you go, you must order the cod with cabbage and the triple cooked chips. Everything else was yummy but those two were delicious! Oh and the bread and butter was amazing.
Had a birthday celebration lunch for my friend. The cocktail is very nice. The team is young, professional and vivid. The food is outstanding. Definitely will come back ! They provide a small square of complimentary birthday cake to make a wish. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu Parking: parking spaces available right next to the restaurant.
Beautiful space in lovely surroundings. The service was also excellent. The food would’ve been top notch if it it weren’t for the fact that nearly every dish had elements that were just far too salty.
This restaurant excels at everything it seems..what a delight! - Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating - Perfect service, attentive but not too much - Small thoughtful extras - Excellent food - Very well priced Came in for lunch. Had the 3 course lunch menu for £38 what a steal!. Lamb belly for starter was delicious, well seasoned and put together dish. Mains I tried the pork collar which was very good but the house made black pudding was phenomenal, best I have ever had..inventively spiced, wish I could buy a kilo to take home. Dessert was fig leaf panna cotta, light and flavoursome. Had a coffee with dessert which was also excellent. Its very clear that they try to do everything to the best standard possible. Wish I lived closer.
We've been here a bit and last night for a special occasion. Service seems to have really gone downhill. Our table was delayed by more than 45 minutes. The staff seemed to be rushing about but with no resolution. We ordered in the bar and were eventually seated. The food standard is still really good but we miss that really attentive service that made visits so special. We asked for dessert menus. Should we have to? They came we perused and put them down. Had to ask again to order. The pudding for two was a little meagre. It was lovely, but just not enough for two to share. My fiancé's steak also arrived on a plate looking rather lonely and sad. We've had that before and almost certainly there was a tomato and an onion cake. Even if they just out the chips and sauce on the plate at least it would look 'complete.' Vegetarian options: There were several Parking: Ample
Great tasting modern British food at the Woodspeen. Even the sourdough bread tasted wonderful. We had a lovely lunch here.Food: 5/5
I can’t understand why it has lost its one star rating in 2023. Whether in terms of ambiance, service, food quality, and wine list, it definitely deserves a one star rating. I’ve been to many one star restaurants and wonder how it’s gotten a one star. Michelin is a very political organization indeed. There’s time when it delayed publishing its rating in HONG Kong when mandarin oriental group, a hotel group w media power, protest its restaurant not rated a three star. Woodspeen deserves its one star
Perfect! The genuinely friendly, warm welcome is wonderful and the staff are quietly efficient and friendly - a sign of true quality. The garden & setting is lovely, it's very pretty and is just a really nice place to sit with a cocktail before dinner. The restaurant is modern and chic, it's lovely and open too whilst still comfortable & warm. The food was absolutely delicious! Beautifully tasty and fresh, and a real feast for the eyes. I shall have to go back as I wanted everything on the menu! Thank you, what a lovely experience, it was everything I had hoped for and more...
