This is a friendly, down to earth hotel with lovely facilities with beautiful, calm surroundings. We've brought our baby and toddler here more than once because the staff are friendly and happy to accommodate the little ones, despite the main clientele being golfers. The rooms are large enough to fit travel cots and access to the pool including a shallow toddler bit makes it a surprisingly lovely place to take a young family. The staff go out of their way to help and resolve any issues and we've had really great breakfasts and evening meals in the bar too! We've always felt really welcome here and would definitely come for yet another visit!
Once you stop following the sat nav and follow the map it's really easy to find. The receptionist was really nice ,polite and helpful. Our room was large , with a good size TV, tea and coffee making facilities and the bed was comfortable . Bonus ! The pool which is included in the price was large and remarkably empty along with the steam room, the sauna was unfortunately not in action but that really was little issue. The restaurant and bar were quite large and the service was pleasant, the prices were not to unreasonable either. However there were only about a dozen couples there at the time . Some of the Google reviews were a bit harsh I feel when considering the cost of the room. I would use this place again if I'm in the area.
Played golf, didn't stay. Course is in terrible condition, no grass on the tees and the greens were awful, they looked like they had just been scarified, no mention of thus when paying green fees. Good layout with nice mix of hole lengths, fairways and first cut were long and the bunkers were awful, not sure what sand has been used but it was so heavy and full of small stones. Want play here again. Staff were not great, and there was no choice if bar meals, turned up early and asked for a sandwich only to be told they were only serving Sunday lunch but thankful the chef made us a bacon sandwich following persistence.
An evening event, catered, organised, and managed by the venue. We had used them ourselves a number of years ago and found them all around excellent, and we recommended them. We were disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended them after the evening we had. An entire table didn't receive their pudding, despite the serving team being told several times they had been missed. Many of the main courses had to be returned as they were cold. Servers had to be reminded that main course plates needed to be removed before serving pudding. 80 plus people who I imagine won't be coming here again. I certainly won't make the mistake of recommending them again. Sad.
Rooms are very outdated and being on the ground floor, you can hear everything that is going on upstairs, lots of footsteps. Not bad for it's price, we went to the bar to get a drink and no one turned up so we left after about 10 minutes waiting. I've stayed here a number of times and nothing seems to improve.
I spent two weeks at the hotel with work colleagues and had an excellent stay. The staff in general and especially the restaurant staff went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel itself could do with a little TLC but it did not detract from the overall positive experience.
Booked as a gift for Godson, the hotel has since cancelled as they received a better offer from elsewhere leaving us high and last minute. Pretty sure that's not how hotels are supposed to work. Seems there will be a few guests in this situation. No attempt at an apology or reparations. Abysmal.
Staff were absolutely amazing and couldn’t be more helpful if they tried. The hotel suite was very clean and neat with an extremely comfortable bed that we would have loved to take home The golf course was in excellent shape and although my wife and I are still learning the game we found it a very good course to play on. We decided to stay for the whole weekend at extremely competitive rates. The food we had could easily pass as 5 star quality and to our surprise all the food was cooked by the General Manager Bob Rogers who was not just an amazing chef he was extremely approachable friendly and helpful and a complete professional. The desk clerk was Dah whine we also found to be effortlessly helpful and professional in his job. All staff were brilliant and they do what every place should do and work as a team!!! Our whole experience of The Wiltshire Golf Hotel and spa was absolutely fabulous and we will definitely be rebooking for future stays and also looking to become full members of this beautiful place. We couldn’t possibly recommend this place enough.
Lovely room good location. Very friendly staff. Our only complaint is there wasn't any hot water for our showers in the morning. I would not expect this in a 4 star hotel.Rooms: 3/5
Just back from a golfing break. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely food too. We will definitely be staying again.Rooms: 5/5
