Very nice ambience with wood styling that manages to be spacy, comfortable and intimate all at the same time. The staff were grand: both professional and friendly, with a pleasant informality that puts guests right at their ease. They were pleased to meet my dog and brought a bowl of water for her without my even asking, which is an instant extra star in my book.

My only regret was that my food (the "pie of the day") was distinctly below the standard of everything else -- most of the meal seemed tasteless, mass-produced and/or slightly odd. That seemed to be an exception: my three companions all seemed to have perfectly fine meals. So I'll give the place another chance next time I'm passing by.

Food is mediocre at best. Don't dare to ask for any menu deviation. Vegetables were raw on our last visit (think they had forgotten to steam them). Staff smiley but uninterested and unable to resolve any issues. We've been here many times and it gets worse every visit. We'd stop visiting but elderly relative likes it cos it's close to home.

Lovely traditional old style pub.
Service was excellent along with great tasting food. Would recommend!

Good and tasteful food in a warm and cosy  atmosphere. I also can recommend the outsite area in the garden for summer days.

Friendly and attractively decorated village pub, good quality food well presented and a good mix of dishes on the menu. A little pricier than basic pub fair which is reasonable . 
Only downside is that the loos don't meet the standard of the pub and meal, very dated and need upgrading.
