We were travelling through the area and tried a couple of other places before finding the Wheelwright. Although they were fully booked and busy, they let us have a drink at the bar and wait for a table. The service was excellent, our hosts were welcoming and friendly. We had the roast beef and it was one of the best roasts we've had in a while, good quality ingredients and a decent sized portion. Will definitely be going back and would recommend as a friendly pub with a great atmosphere and tasty food.
Great pub with excellent service, very dog friendly too! Didn't get a photo of the bruschetta starter we shared but it was absolutely phenomenal.. food was really good, would definitely come back if we were ever in the area again
Great service and great food. After a busy Sunday lunch time to the extent that the roasts had run out by evening! - my request for fish as per weekday menu resulted in a superbly cooked piece of hake with lemon couscous- YUM! Thanks to all.

Visited for Sunday roast - 1 x roast beef and 1 x roast pork. Not impressed with either! The roast pork was very lean and very dry. The roast potatoes could have been roasted a little longer. Yorkshire pudding and stuffing were very dry. The roast beef was okay, but nothing special. The price was reasonable at £13.50 each and the service was fine. Sadly, I can't recommend it, although the local beer was good.

Super tasty Sunday roast lunch today - really liked the ingredients in the vegetarian option fennel etc.. The whole thing - each individual bit - was yummy. If I’d have been at home, I would’ve mopped up the gravy with some bread
Just had the most amazing meal. Pan roasted Hake - absolutely stunning. Highly recommended
I only stopped for a short while but, impressed by the menu & had a nice few drinks o/side! Will visit again.
