Had a superb meal at The Waterwheel tonight.. From Starter to Dessert all where piping hot and well cooked. And served by the lovely Mags and Sophie who had paid attention to all food requests due to allergies.. And on arrival a lovely young gentleman by the name of John seated us and took drinks order.. Highly recommended. All staff that we had dealt with were all polite and helpful. Dinning area and Toilets spotless..
Great value curry and drink very enjoyable nice wee midweek treat staff very attentive especially Margaret would highly recommend
Although the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes for food. In fact, it was 45 minutes before we were told that we could go up for our carvery. The food we had was of a decent standard, but there was still a lot that had run out potatoes, vegetables, etc. We were offered free drinks if we wanted to order any more, which we didn't, so we were then offered free carrot cake and ice cream to take away, which we did. The staff seemed quite stressed, but the lad who was looking after us was lovely.
Given a table straight away as it was very quiet. After 25 min I had to ask them to take my order. Then took another 20 Min for food to arrive. Both family's either side had the same problem and one was told the boy was good at seating customers but not then taking orders. Also a carvery that doesn't serve a carvery !!! That said the food was very nice but overall very disappointed, don't think I will be back, much better service and carvery at Renfrew
Staff were really attentive and took the time to chat to us. Food was a lot better than I'd expected as have visited the chain before not this restaurant and was disappointed. We had starters and they were really nice, the salad garnish was nice to. Partner had the steak and ale pie and couldn't finish it. I had the chicken tikka masala and was very tasty. Portion size was great value for money. The only thing that we had an issue with was that we arrived just before 2000 I wish we had arrived earlier to spend more time. But that's not the restaurants fault. Would be mine for taking ages to decide where to eat.
We come from Dunoon but always love to call in here for food when we are over. The staff service you receive is excellent, friendly & inviting, nothing is too much trouble. We visited here on this particular evening boxing day we were warmly greeted by a girl called Sophie & a man called Ross. We were given a festive menu & the service was extremely quick & food was excellent. Myself & my husband had the carvery to which the chef himself served us. Very friendly guy & the quality of food was lovely, chef apologised for it not being perfect due to them not being so busy but I can’t fault it. We were then given festive deserts which staff kindly served us & the chef waited for us even though we hadn’t ordered them & we were the only customers. Overall the food, the customer service & the welcoming atmosphere are excellent & I would highly recommend
Chain pub and carvery. Perfectly fine. Very pleasant staff. Food a bit overpriced for what you get. Update: came back a few nights later and had an absolutely smashingly good steak. Prompt and attentive service as usual.
Ordered the carvery and was told there was none, ordered the mixed grill which there also was none of. Was then advised if I waited 40 minutes there would be more carvery ready, this wait was closer to 90 minutes. When the food came, the carvery was amazing, very tasty. The manager was so nice and apologetic, aside from the wait it was good
We love this restaurant. We have been here a few times and always seem to be served by Mags, she is fantastic, has great customer service and always happy to have a chat. Other members of the team are also very friendly and you always feel welcomed to the establishment
We were welcomed on arrival, asked what we fancied, seated and served in minutes with a smile. Being from the states we had a lovely chat. I will definitely be back! The steak pie looks Devine so that is next on the list while in Scotland
