We had a fabulous visit to the Museum a couple of weeks ago. The main exhibition A Merry Go Round was absolutely stunning and would give the American Museum in Bath a run for its money. I visit many textile exhibitions but rarely have I seen such a wonderful exhibition. Jen Jones was there and kindly took us around which was amazing . She is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Welsh quilts. Lampeter is fairly isolated but well worth the journey. The cafe in the old Town Hall is very pleasant to visit whilst you are there.

An unexpected pleasure! I have to be honest I visited here at my wife's pleasure, not my thing I thought it's actually a little gem! A wonderful exhibition of a past and current art form deeply entrenched in welsh culture. Definitely worth the entry price which includes re-entry for the day if you want to wander off and get lunch or just a nice coffee.

There is usually an exhibition in the Upper Gallery. There are always different themes, thus different quilts on display. The Welsh Quilt Centre has hundreds of historical quilts, all carefully preserved and presented according to the theme. The explanation sheets are bilingual and show a smaller of each quilt. There is often another exhibition in the back gallery too. Entry price well worth it. Books, cards, gifts, kits, etc, and restored quilts and Welsh woollen blankets for sale as well. Wonderful place!

I have visited a number of times and love this venue and the collections/exhibitions I have seen there from contemporary artists inspired by the collections through to the magnificent examples of Welsh Quilts. So happy it is open.

Wonderful display, knowledgeable volunteers, even reluctant husband found it interesting.
