I’ve had to visit the Welby Practice on a few occasions since moving to the area a couple of months ago, both for myself and my baby daughter. The staff have been amazing each time - we have promptly managed to book appointments with the GP with the reception staff being super helpful and empathetic on every occasion, have found the AskMyGP service very easy to use, and have had really positive experiences with the 3 GPs and 1 Practice Nurse we have seen. It’s genuinely the best experience I’ve ever had with a GP practice so we’re really glad we chose to register our family with the Welby Practice!
Having had to visit the surgery unusually twice in the last few weeks for unrelated issues I have had the best possible treatment from the superb nurse and doctors. Access was not an issue on either occasion especially the second episode when I was seen at very short notice. Diagnosis was spot on and effective treatment initiated.nFollow up reminders for post treatment and notification for annual health check/ flu jab all spot on.nBrilliant service as far as I am concerned and my particular thanks to the nurse and doctors.
They don’t even deserve a star. This is the most horrible GP me and my family have registered here. They hardly take a look at the patient and do any efforts here.nnInstead, they had sent us off every time to the A&E. When we go to the A&E, the doctors there are surprised to see that these guys have not done a proper job.nnThis has occurred not only just once but many times. Absolutely horrendous service.nnThey don’t even follow the protocols per the NHS guidelines even. Thats where the guidelines usually state the practice needs to be done by the GP before even sending them off to the A&E. Half of the appointments that should have been booked by the GP were done by A&E staff members at QMC Nottingham because the GP here just does not want to consider examining the patients appropriately.nnI am only going to remove myself off and my family select elsewhere where the staff is Atleast kind enough to look into the patents properly!
Appalling receptionists that genuinely act like they have gone to medical school with how they control the access to healthcare. They do not listen to you and as a result they’ll send you in person appointments when you have specifically requested a telephone appointment and as there is also a complete lack of communication, you end up missing your appointment and have to wait days for a rescheduled appointment on the askmygp service which genuinely is shambolic.nnFor anyone reading this review and perhaps thinking if they could just get past the receptionists, that they will definitely experience top notch medical care from the doctors and nurses, please know that I once attended an appointment for mental health issues and a senior GP laughed in my face when I discussed my difficulties.nnPlease go anywhere else in the Grantham area, this GP surgery is awful, slow and has ill mannered employees working for them.
You can never get to see a Doctor. If you are on serious medication or have a serious condition this isn't the GP for you. No follow up from the GP. A complete lack of patient support. you will feel left to get on with it if you have a long term illness. Trying to use the Online appointment system is a waste of time, you can never to book to see a Doctor. Some receptionists are lovely Abby some are not so. Never known a surgery where you cannot get to see or even speak to a Doctor to discuss your concerns and results etc.
