Found this place by accident and we were all so happy we did. To our benefit we had tried and failed to get into two other local restaurants so turned to google to find somewhere. The Weighbridge Inn was 2 miles from our location so we popped in on spec. Greeted politely by a very nice young lady and managed to find us a quiet spot. The manager was also very welcoming. The two in one pie was labelled the best pie My 82 year old father in law has ever had. High praise indeed from a man who really loves his pie. The cheesy garlic bread was to die for. The soup thick and very tasty and the ham gorgeous and thick and tasty with the eggs and chips. The lot was polished off. Would gladly have traveled 20 miles to eat here. Would recommend to anyone.
We went to try the famous 2in1 pies and were not disappointed, the more was plenty of filling in the pie, a beautiful buttery crumbly pastry, strong Stilton and a mature cheddar cheesy cauliflower. We also tried the 2in1 pudding, I think the pastry should have been a bit sweeter for this desert but it was still delicious, I particularly liked the cherry and the apples had a good cinnamon flavour. Service was fantastic, staff were polite and attentive. We asked for some time between main and pudding to settle which they were more than happy to do. Plenty of parking outside and a nice old country pub vibe. We will definitely be retuning.
Came here today for our anniversary meal on recommendation from a friend, definitely not disappointed. The 2in1 pie was amazing. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you love pies, will definitely be returning again 5*****
Classic British pub, they’re known for their 2-1 pies and they delivered on the quality. Very flaky pastry, falls apart easily but good flavour. I ordered the Steak and Mushroom which consisted of a generous amount of meat. I was expecting more cheesy cauliflower sauce on the side but that part was minimal. Drinks were limited however the service was accommodating.
A great venue, small, which means you must book to avoid disappointment. The pies are just as they're billed and are very filling, the "tiny" is plenty and with a side order all but the hungriest will leave satisfied. I'll be going back again to try the rest of the pies on the list.
I only had a mini pie and it was enough my partner had the large one and you definitely need an appetite for that! The pastry is to die for. These pies cannot be beaten
Read the reviews and came for the pies! We weren't staying too far away and so far had struggled to find something decent yet at a reasonable price that matched the quality. Two of us had a small and large 2in1 fish pie with broccoli mornay. The pastry was so short, crumbly and rich. The filling of fish, mix of white fish - cod I think and salmon was loaded and the mornay was rich in flavour. I had the 2in1 pudding of cherry pie my favourite and apple crumble. Both equally good quality and perfect with a jug of warm custard. The inn is a quintessential olde world pub of its age with lots of character, full of artefacts, nooks and crannies. Service was lovely. We left very happy.
Amazing service and the 2in1 pies are without a doubt the best I have ever tasted they are delicious I will defo being driving the two and a half hours just for tea
The 2in1 pies are super tasty! The picture are of the large 2in1 and it qas a LARGE meal....be warned. They also do a 2in1 pudding if you have space
The 2 in 1 pies do not disappoint. Absolutely lovely. The staff are friendly and very accommodating, upstairs can be a little chilly but warmed up once other people arrived. Book well in advance if you want to be down stairs by the fire. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely will be returning.
