What an awful experience, there are many major problems with this place, but the most concerning is the hygiene ! Our water bottle was so dirty, it had hands and stain marks all over it. We were then joined by locals and their dogs sniffing our table, so gross. The food is below average, my pork lacked seasoning, and it was incomplete my meal, I had to ask for the crackling. My little one was sad with the tasteless pasta. Now let’s going to talk about staff: the manager has a terrible attitude m, she aggressively approached us saying we had a complaint. No, I just tried to ask for the missing item. She justified the appalling member of staff, who is new, fair enough, but who was always in a corner looking at her immaculate long red nails. Anyway staff are clearly not well trained, my cutlery had stains on it, because they seemed to spend more time talking than working, and management permit it. Don’t waste your money here, there are much nicer places. To the manager, I completely understand people being new, but you seem to be the cause of such low quality of service.
Had a surprise lunch with a very good friend, whom recommended the weeping willow. Very humble staff and food very first class presentation. Fish and chips was delicious and the dirty burger tasty. The atmosphere very relaxing so can’t wait to come again.
Had a lovely working lunch Chicken terrine with coronation mayo and Parma ham, lovely! Well balanced with a warm heat on the mayo which was great And some home made sour dough for the table, deep flavour and good firm crust, delicious Main was Pork belly with burnt apple puree and mash. Really good and looked beautiful Thank you weeping willow, will definitely be back Vegetarian options: Thd rice pudding was vegan and gluten-free
We booked to have lunch with the kids on my wife’s birthday. Having eaten at other Chestnut pubs we expected great food. The decor is lovely and the service excellent. It was looking good. My wife ordered the “dirty burger” and I went for haddock and chips with mushy peas. The kids had two children sized fish and chips the other had the children’s burger all came with skinny fries. Portion sizes for the kids were good. It was a surprise to see my wife’s burger was the same size when the price tag was £10 more at £18. My decent sized haddock arrived with thick chunky chips. I was so disappointed that the chips were not cooked properly being cold and hard inside. They replaced them with skinny fries. Wish that I had asked for the fish to have a bit longer in the fryer too as that was also cold in the centre. I ate it out of hunger and my stomach is making me regret it now. The mushy peas were mashed minted garden peas. What a shame. Everything was so wonderful and they gave my wife a lovely birthday treat on our departure. In mitigation we had arrived at 12 noon on opening so I wonder if it was just the fryers not being up to temperature. We will try other Chestnut pubs as this is the first time we have had anything below excellent. Kid-friendliness: Excellent portions for kids Parking: Easy large and level Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access disabled toilets be aware gravel car park
Extremely disappointed came for a meal on the 1/11/22, we have been lots of times in the past and food was very good. The food last night was not nice at all it was not hot the potatoes was raw the lamb was awful and the broth was brown water with no flavour. The belly pork was very tough also. We informed one of the wait staff about the lamb and he didn't seem bothered at all, just shrugged it off. Off of last night's experience we won't be rushing back.
Excellent service, nice variety on menu, large portion sizes, food beautifully presented and very tasty. Only complaint, has nothing to do with the food, the venue was cold so sat with my coat on for duration. Going again next week Food: 5/5
We had an evening meal here recently and despite having eaten here several times before in the past and enjoyed it very much, we felt this experience was lacking. The surf and turf was a gorgeous steak and x3 prawns. I had to order chips separately which were slightly pale. My eating partner had fish and chips, very anaemic looking fish and chips and very thin fish … batter not great either. We then had a pudding each … salted caramel tart …. Bought in? Not overly exciting. We had three beers whilst we were there too. At a cost of £87 we were a bit disappointed overall but on a brighter note, staff and service were good.
First time dining here, me and the good lady. Very deceptive from the curbside appeal, then you walk in to little cosy bar with a vast expanse of restaurant behind it and a massive open kitchen which all looked in very good condition. Very clean, nice and warm on a cold spring evening. We have tried several of the groups venues and from the outset the weeping willow is now our favourite. We were greeted lovely we were sat at a lovely table, can’t fault any of the service. We ordered starters and mains, the Aroncini and the black pudding scotch egg both cooked to perfection. Great seasoning, great flavours and good size. We then went with the barbecue pork chop and the flat iron steak accompanied with posh chips.. again faultless… the meat succulent, charred on griddle and bursting with flavour, the roaring potatoe chips were a bigood size and looked a little greasy .. but no they were crunchy on outside, soft and seasoned inside .. the slaw was “to die for”. Steak cooked perfectly, well seasoned and the combination of the sauces was wonderful. I said to the manager/ supervisor who was on duty “keep hold of those chefs”. It is lovely to see somebody taking pride in their work from presentation to flavour combinations to execution of the whole dish. I even had to leave via the kitchen to thank all the gentleman in there for a superb meal from start to finish. Well done Willow Team on getting everything correct … my missus knows how much of a compliment that is coming from me: an ex pub company owner and massive critique of all things others do in hospitality… Oh great range of drinks too Bang on !! Parking: Lots of it
Such an amazing restaurant. Went for Sunday Roast in the bar area as we brought our dog. Cosy decor inside, lovely seating and warm welcome. I currently have a lot of dietary requirements which is really frustrating for me so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for venues where I eat, but I couldnt of been made to feel any more at ease by our waitress Danielle P. She was so accomodating and understanding and really went above and beyond, the chef/kitchen team followed everything requested and my meal was perfect. Couldnt recommend the restaurant, location, food and overall experience highly enough. Will definately be back! Thank you The Weeping Willow.
Brought my Mother out for her birthday. Absolutely impeccable service from both kitchen and our servers. Absolutely delicious food and a lovely way to celebrate the birthday. Thank you to all!Rooms: 5/5
